Deep stream, with high banks either side, horizontally across the middle of the field saw a few turns of intense skirmisher activity before the warbands and hoplites faced each other across the water looking for a chance to cross. Greeks crossed in some force on their left, but they did not receive any follow on support as there was no safe crossing point for the rest of the Greek line and were overrun by a combination of warbands and cavalry. The loss of this Greek expeditionary force enabled the Gauls to use their superior numbers to grind themselves to victory. Thanks to random27 for a good game.

A great match which went the full distance. Roman forces advanced on their right and caught some Hunnic units in the process but the majority were able to wheel round and join their intact comrades on the opposite flank. Roman cavalry was beaten off the field and their infantry forces could not pin down the far more mobile Hunnic forces. Roman chances were hampered by a mass of Hunnic light horse and foot archers pouring in through a large wooded area on the Roman left and causing mayhem for the rest of the battle - not only through causing casualties and routs but in tying up all the units of the Roman left so they couldn't be used against the main Hunnic cavalry force.

An uneven fight in both the matches and going the same way in both games. The Arabs are no match for the Jewish Revolt forces. Well Played to Ray552 who did the best he could with a poor force. The camels are missile magnets and soon routed under a hail of sling shot... (N.B. A pity I did not stick to my plan in the other game... Find a big hill and sit on it... )

This game went down to the wire, largely because of my overly-clever attempts to maneuver the Arab army off their hills into a battle in the open.

They came off their hills all right - I had spread my units too thinly, opening them to flank attacks by the Arab cavalry.

The 60% limit was only reached when a desperate disrupted Zealot unit broke fragmented Arab massed archers on the very last turn.

Very well played by Holien, with an army that should have folded like a cheap lawn chair (as it did when I had the Arab side.)
