More like getting closer, it was discussed in HOW 2022. Almost 400 factions that are playable..we'll see when that is finalized!

Excellent! Very pleased that the game is now officially confirmed to be set in the medieval period. I assume that it's pretty much a given that FOG:K will have a link with FOGII?

For those who haven't seen it yet, here is the store page for Kingdoms, it has a bit more detail than was given in HoW discussion, ie; 375 factions, and the link to FOG2 Medieval confirmed:
