Any plans for an update with the new DLC?
Yes, it's being worked on. In addition to the Swifter than Eagles content I have done a lot of work on the existing mod; correcting errors, improving other things and even adding new armies and units!
So I intend to test this a lot before release. I have been testing for several weeks now, and I am still finding things every day that I want to improve, so it will take a several months before I am ready to release the new version.
As a taste of what to expect, here is the current change log:
1) Added the following new armies:
Tuareg (together with Camel Lancers and Tuareg Foot from FoG2 Medieval. Camel lancers also added to North African Arab list),
Chionite (with new Chionite Lancers and Light Horse units),
Late Beja (with new Beja lancer cavalry and LH units),
Late Central Asian City States,
Arab Indian,
Kurdish list (including a new Kurdish Lancers unit),
Early Macedonians 650-356 BC (with some new units),
Hatran,
Commagene,
Christian Nubians (with several new units),
Phrygian
Greek 1179-681 BC list split into two: A Greek (Dark Age) 1179-891 BC list with Mounted Warriors Light Horse, and a Greek (Geometric) 890-681 BC list with Mounted Warriors.
2) Several new units added to existing armies:
i) Syrian Armoured Lancers added, and used instead of Muslim Armoured Lancers in later Syrian armies.
ii) Elephant Escort Halberdiers added to Hephalite Hunnic army list, in place of Indian Clubmen.
iii) Created Muslim Slingers and Camelry units, and added them to appropriate armies.
iv) Added Nakharark Armenian Lancers (50% bow) to Rshtuni Armenian list (639-717 AD).
v) New Cimmerian cavalry (Nomad Horse archers with bare chest) added to Rise of Persia armies.
vi) Added new Lutat Macemen unit to the Fatimid list.
vii) Added Indian Guardsmen with 2 handed swords to Royal Indian and Mountain Indian lists.
viii) New North African Light Archers unit added to many lists instead of the Blemmye Light Archer unit.
3) Some major changes to unit classifiactions/capabilities:
i) Faction specific Early cavalry models and textures added for Egyptian, Phrygian, Phoenician, Mannean and Philistine armies. All Early Cavalry now classified as Below Average, Lightly Protected, Light Spear, Swordsmen at 26 points.
ii) Added Cataphract Camels to new Parthian (Nisibis) 217 AD list. Note that I cannot believe that it is possible to fully armour a camel, so I have rated them as just Well Armoured Above Average Lancers.
iii) Dismounted Frankish Horse Archers added to Carolingian Frankish list. In a departure from the version in the version 3.1 tabletop army lists, I have made these as Medium Foot Average Bowmen half strength units.
iv) Reclassified Early Arab Camelry as Unprotected, Raw, Bow, 32 points.
v) Reclassified Improvised Camelry as Protected, Raw, Bow, Swordsmen, 44 points.
vi) Byzantine Skoutatoi from 904 AD, and Skoutatoi and Archers now contain 10% Heavy weapon to represent the Menavlatoi, specially armed men deployed to defend against heavily armoured cavalry. Also a new Detached Menavlatoi unit has been added to some Byzantine lists. I haven't tested this yet, and so it might change.
vii) Dismounted Sabir Huns changed to 8 figure, Above Average Warriors, 50% Bow, Impact Foot Swordsmen, and replace German Warband in Sabir list.
4) Several changes to nation Banners:
i) New Banners for
Alan (adapted from FOG2 Medieval),
Breton,
Byzantine (adapted from FOG2 Medieval),
Dailami (adapted from FOG2 Medieval),
Georgian (adapted from FOG2 Medieval),
Ghaznavid warm side only (adapted from FOG2 Medieval).
Later Romans now use old TT Mod Byzantine banners.
ii) Corrected an error in the several banner models that was causing some fluorescant green shine; Egyptian, Thessalian, Theban, Spartan, Ptolemaic, Macedonian, Illyrian, Bactrian, and Athenian.
iii) Republican and Early Empire Roman banners now have a new texture.
iv) Changed Blemye banner to new Christian Nubian Banner.
5) New models and/or textures for several existing units:
Axumite Guard texture, new model and textures for Axumite Foot. Cheer animations added for both, as they are impact foot.
Axumite Light Javelinmen
Etruscan Axemen, corrected the lack of shine on helmets.
Levy Skirmishers
Roman 1st Class Spearmen.
Blemmye foot
Indian/Eastern Artillery
Expert and Average Armoured Horse Archers
Skythian/Saka Armoured Horse Archers
Etruscan Light Chariot
Lydian Light Chariot
Persian Heavy Chariot
Muslim Mob
Indian Average Protected lancers
Indian Superior Protected lancers
Sassanid Clibanarii
Early Byzantine Koursores and Flankers
Nomad slingers coats made a bit grubbier.
Added cool side texture for Dark Age LH, Kerns and Scots Irish foot.
Blemmye Veteran Cavalry (Bow) armour texture slightly improved.
6) Several minor changes and corrections:
i) Iberian army renamed Spanish (Iberian).
ii) Corrected missing name for Ligurian Light Javelinmen.
iii) Thessalian and Italian Veteran Armoured Cavalry renamed to Noble Armoured Cavalry.
iv) Turkish Cavalry and Light Horse models scaling changed, face changed, and new coat textures.
v) Corrected lack of general names for Anglo-Danish.
vi) Used Assyrian Slingers for early Arab armies, it looks slightly better.
vii) Some Nomad Light Horse Archers added to the Athenian 460-381 BC army, to represent the Hippotoxatai.
viii) Increased cost of Blemmye Hillman to 45. Previously they had a discount which should not apply.
ix) Indian Clubmen corrected to Medium Foot (from Warriors).
x) Replaced many Bulgar Cavalry and light Horse units with Nomad versions.
xi) New animations for Persian Guard Apple Bearers and Saka Foot.
xii) Scythed Chariots deleted from Early Achaemenid list, and deleted Heavy Persian Chariots from some Achaemenid armies.
xiii) Some special army lists have had their Longitude and Latitude values restricted to the actual battle (or campaign) where they fought, ie: Achaemenid Persian (Thymbra), Parthian (Saka Campaign), Saka (Parthian Campaign), Spartan (2nd Invasion Peloponnese), Achaemenid Persian (Gaugamela), Achaemenid Persian (Bessos), Syracusan (Agathokles in Africa), Greek (Xenophon), Roman (Otho), Roman (Vitellius), Illyrian (Bardyllis in Epiros), Parthian (Nisibis).
The three later Abbasid armies have also had their Longitude and Latitude values reduced to reflect their dwindling empire.
Corrected LPI_ARAB availability dates.
Corrected E_FRANKISH Longitude value.
xiv) Guard Lancers compulsory in the Achaemenid Persian (Gaugamela) army list.
xv) Removed my Pseudocomitatenses textures, as there are now official versions.
xvi) Corrected side name for Early Frankish army (From German to Frankish).
xvii) Indian and Slav Levy units downgraded to Untrained and 15 points, to match other Levy units.
xviii) Sassanid Clibanarii renamed Asavaran Clibanarii, and replaced by new Expert Asavaran Horse Archers in all army lists after 476 AD. The Above Average Sassanid Armoured Horse Archers renamed Asavaran Horse Archers, and now upgrade to Expert Asavaran Horse Archers in campaigns.
xix) Philistine allies unlocked for LN_ASSYRIAN and VL_HEBREW lists.
xx) Numerous very minor changes to Avar lists.
xxi) Improved animations and sounds for Babylonian Light Archers.
7) All official updates applied, including movable Heavy Artillery rules.
