A battle that turned into two. On my right the majority of our forces slugged away at each other, and on my left our remaining forces engaged. I managed to slowly envelop in the battle on my right while holding steady on my left. A tough game for Alfredo where the dice favoured him slightly early on and then turned against him later.

MikeMarchant's Early Imperial Romans (8/31) beat Brindlebane's Ptolemaics (32/31)

It was the gods of luck again who orchestrated this win. It looks so one sided, but that's what can happen in this game when even a single turn can go so horribly wrong.

I have to say that any success I have in this game, whether deserved or not, is laregly down to players like Brindlebane (and Cunningcairn, Titusgroan, mschund, and others) who have kindly and patienlty allowed me to play against them time and again, always generous with their advice and always willing to give a hopeless beginner another lesson in the art of war. I am very grateful to Birndelbane, and the others, for this, and to the wider community too, who have always been friendly and generous and welcoming.

Bad luck, Paul, and thanks for all your help. You'll win the next one, for sure.
