Pete, I went into FoG Multiplayer and began to issue a challenge selecting the 'Skirmish' option. I picked my own army (Pontics 281-111) for Side A and then found I could not specify a number of armies for Side B that are listed in Division D, Classical Antiquity, i.e. the nation was not shown or nation was present but only for the incorrect time period. Also, by this point I still had not seen an option to designate a particular opponent. Do I simply leave the Side B at Potluck and then continue? Please let me know. Thanks.

When choosing your opponent's army you may need to adjust the two large filter buttons there called "Date" and "Geographical". All match-ups are possible in FOG2. Once you have identified your opponent's army enter it in the second army box and press "Create". Then add password. You can put your opponent's name in the "Comments" box with your section and division too (Classical Antiquity Division D) if you want to but this is not crucial to the challenge process. The key thing is to password protect your challenge and then post the details on the forum (and by PM).
So the full sequence is -
My challenge
New challenge
Create skirmish
Adjust filters if required to get the right armies
Create
Enter password
Enter Comments if you want to
Create
Post details of the challenge on the forum and send a PM.

I want to double check the terrain rules. I can't find it now but I believe I read we use potluck terrain. So a scenario is generated and if either player feels the terrain is too one-sided, then he can reject the terrain and a second potluck scenario is generated. The second map must be accepted. Is this correct?

Yes, pot luck terrain is used for all battles in the FOG2DL, except for in the Themed Event where we are using some of my scenarios this time. Rule 4 states . . . "Players may agree to re-start a match within the first three turns if they believe the terrain is likely to produce a sterile match or a draw. The maximum number of re-starts permitted for a single match is two." So this means a re-start must be
agreed between the two players. If one player wants to keep the terrain then the battle is played on that map. No-one can be forced into a re-start. Players can agree to re-start two times. The third map must be accepted by both players and played on.
