At one stage it was looking like a low scoring game but Kyle decided to move out from the woods and made a game of it.

Some nasty nellies ran rampant as did some cunning chariots but the all-too approachable archers died in droves despite some resiliant rallies. Thanks for the game

Also now that I am back to my starting army (Greek Mercenary) I am going to switch it out to Rhoxolani 350 BC - 24 AD for more variety.

Holien accepted the match but is about to go on vacation so there will be limited to no moves for the first week.

SawyerK (Bosporan) 52% 1pt Defeated By Holien (Spanish Lusitanian) 25% 4pts

The battlefield was fairly open with no rough ground in the central area and a couple of small hills on the Spanish left flank that could easily be reached by the Bosporan Lancers. The sheer number of lances glinting on the battlefield put the Spanish to flight as any general advance would see them enveloped and skewered. There were some woods to the left and if they could make it there to secure the flanks they might have a chance.

Meanwhile the skirmish line saw some woods and rough ground near the low hills on the Bosporan side and took a chance that they might reach them before the Cav. The Bosporan skirmishers dealt with a sacrificial victim sent to a village to die but it bought time for the left push. That left push was key as the skirmishers backed with the small contingent of Spanish Cav managed to win the fight and ultimately turn the tide of the battle. An epic battle and a big thank you to my oppo for the banter and good natured discussion.

N.B. I will be taking a week break from Friday so will not be accepting any challenges during that period. Cheers

I would like to drop the Spanish Lusitanian entry and pickup the Spartan 461-261 BC army.

As I recall, you can only swap out armies if you end up back with the one you originally started out with, or when we have a seasonal opportunity to swap. So, if you started with the Spanish, you could swap out.

In going back to my original message joining the League, I entered with the Spanish Celtiberian army which apparently over time morphed into the current Spanish Lusitanian option. Unless someone else joined with the Spanish Lusitanian? Suggestions please.

Yes, Spanish (Lusitanian) 300-10 BC was yours once upon a time. So Spartan 461-281 BC will then become yours now.
