I will be wheeling out my trusty old bingo kit to do the draw for the group stages of the Themed Event this Friday at around 10am (UK time). I will post up the draw as it happens and it will probably take about a quarter of an hour. The entrants are listed below. We have the winner from the last two seasons, Nosy_Rat, defending his title again and going for a hat-trick of wins; also in the draw is last season's beaten finalist, pantherboy; and there are three other players who have reached the quarter-final stage in previous seasons, Nijis, paulmcneil and schmolywar. The draw is completely open. It is not seeded in any way so all permutations are possible.
Themed Event entrants
1. Barrold713 3.18
2. Brenmusik 1.26
3. dkalenda 6.87
4. edb1815 3.61
5. hidde 9.50
6. iandavidsmith 2.78
7. IMC 5.56
8. jjaquemond 3.17
9. Nijis (Quarter-finalist in Season 3) 6.20
10. Nosy_Rat (Winner in Season 2 and Season 3) 8.28
11. pantherboy (Runner-up in Season 3) 10.30
12. paulmcneil (Quarter-finalist in Season 2) 4.46
13. phoyle3290 n/r
14. rexhurley 3.82
15. schmolywar (Quarter-finalist in Season 1) n/r

I would like to give my place to Ian (IMC). I am kind of responsible that he did not see that in time.
Thanks.
OK, I have removed your application from this section. Can I keep you as a reserve? (stockwellpete)
Ofcourse!

If all you need is one more person, I can volunteer as tribute.....*cough*.....I mean cannon fodder. If anyone else joins after me, then I would request that I be moved to the Reserve until enough new players sign up for another division to be formed. And so on and so forth.
Basically, I've really only practiced with Classical armies, so I have no expectation of much success. But it would be a good excuse to branch out.
Armies:
......honestly, I'll play whatever army list doesn't bump someone else's first choice.
PM sent to Geffalrus requesting army choices and a definite commitment to play. I cannot open a third division on this basis. (stockwellpete)

We have received interest from a player regarding the Early Middle Ages section but it is really on an "half-in, half-out" basis. I have sent a PM asking for a definite commitment to play. Until that is received I cannot open a third division in that section. I will review the situation at the end of the day.

I have now added the current player rating score to this division list. For the benefit of new players, the significance of the player rating score is that it determines in which order each player has his army allocated. If we look at Division A, for example, we can see that the lowest rated player is rexhurley with a score of 3.82, so he will be allocated his army first and so will get his first choice army. That army, or the nation it came from, cannot then be used by any other player in that division. We do this to ensure an interesting spread of army selections. The next lowest rated player is Ulysisgrunt and he will get his first choice army only if it has not already been allocated. If it has, then we move to his second choice. And this procedure is repeated through the division until we come to the top rated player who is pantherboy. By this time, nine armies (and nations) have been allocated so pantherboy will probably be allocated his third, or even his fourth army selection.
You can also see in the lists above that a number of players have "n/r" after their name. This means they have no current rating. This is usually because they are a new player, or it may be that they are returning to the competition after a long break. Najanaja and Tiglath are two such players this season.
The player ratings can be found here . . .
