The battle was fairly even with the Egyptian Sherdan and Libyan swordsmen having the edge until, the Philistine heavy Assyrian style chariots faced off against the Egyptian chariots. The arrow storm blotted out the sun as the Philistine chariots were turned into pin cushions. The victory of the Egyptian chariots tipped the scales in favor of the Son of Ra. A closer battle than it looks. If the Philistine chariots had made it into contact with the Egyptian chariots it would have been a different story.

The Fatimid and German lancers faced off in the narrow gap between a wood and their infantry and hammered on each other. The infantry following the example of their betters did the same. In the end the dismounted German nobles and a slightly larger number of spearmen was the deciding factor. The higher moral and armor of the dismounted nobles overcame the Fatimid spearmen while the German spearmen were able to turn the Fatimid flank.

The French army was able to take advantage of the terrain to divide the enemy army, using the rough terrain to position its archers, and its cavalry was able to stop the best enemy units while its Swiss and feudal pikemen attacked the enemy pikemen to victory.

Jtrillodmp (French 1480-1483) defeated Indibil (Venetian 1440-1500) 60-46

The map began as a challenge for both sides with a large stream separating the battlefield. The Venetians poured their cavalry into trying to cross on one side while the French had done the same with their pikemen on the opposite side, while the rest of their armies held their ground. Finally the French managed not only to block the entrance of the French cavalry but also to defeat them while their pikemen kept the rest of the Venetians entertained at great sacrifice. The victory was hard fought.

Had to post an updated table to show the current situation in Division C. anderarcos11 and jtrillodmp are completely level after 5 matches! Also one or two players behind them could still grab a few wins to make it even closer.

Lots of little obscuring hills and woods for skulking, a pressuring flank movement behind the enemies main line and no "dramatic" results in the center led to a very incremental workmanlike result for the good guys.
