Giving and answer to a request made by user Nordlingen1634... I decided to make an icon for the Douglat TBD Devastator torpedo bomber (just to make a change from so many armoured trains!)... Included here are the base icon, mask and two special camo skins (US Navy light blue) for using with the DCS software. Also, the icon is attached. I hope you like it!
Have torpedo air-launching fun! 8)

PS: Icon pack updated with correct positioned insignia.

Another air unit icon, but this time, from late war european theater of war... The Me-262B-1a/U1 twin-seat, radar equipped nightfighter jet plane...
I hope you like it as much as I enjoyed making this model.
Here is the unit icon and big image portrait.
Enjoy, and good hunt! :-)

PS: Updated the icon, this time with correct positioning of pitot tube on the right side image...

Wow Guille,

beautiful, great icons!

Some tiny points for further improvement:

Devastator: US fighter planes carry the wing insignia only at the left sight of the upper area. So the left icon should have the wing insignia at the "high" position.

Me262 NF: The plane cry also for our nightfighting camo schemes, so let the underside black if you make the mask please. The position of the air speed velocity tube, it is the same thing as like as the insignia for the Devastator. Let the tube set on the right icon at the "low" position. Finally you could also use the drop tanks from our Go60 armament warehouse.

Btw. The perfect brother to our other fighter plane project, start the engines and let it roll out of the hangar please... 8)

Greetings!

Asuser: Very accurate observations... Good to have an efficient quality control departament! I will modify the icons with the tips you mentioned. Also, thanks for the nice words! The Me-262 Night Fighter icon mask is in the making, but will make it after the details on the icon are finished, of course... :-)
"Mirroring" the icon images is quick, but makes me overlook some details... :-)
By the way: I received you new and good looking stuff sent by e-mail... Will check and give you and answer on Friday/Saturday

T2_2112: I will make an icon for the big gunned Me-262, let me think about stats for those units.

Ballermann: Thanks also four your nice words. Enjoy the little models! :-) You know there will be something new in this thread, so stay tuned!

Another late war, advanced unit that needed an overhaul... The P-80 fighter... Here is an improved icon, in two scheme variations, an also a SE unit with the D-Day stripes! Besides, I also renewed the FP-80 Photo-recon version. So, have fun and update your files! 8)
I made an effort to eliminate all the "rogue pixels" which looked so ugly, and corrected the shadows also. Please, check and give feedback if you like. Thanks!

PS: Pack updated, with correction of the last (I hope) "rogue pixels"...

The P-80 looks better now, thanks. There is only a tiny white pixel showing in the shadows, but that's hardly visible on all but water tiles. You can also see it when you select the unit in the editor.

Asuser: Good point! I updated the Devastator and Me-262 icons, with the modifications you pointed out. Thanks for the feedback!
The Mask for the 262 Night Fighter is in the short list of projects to do... :-)

Horst: Uploaded an updated icon pack... Hopefully, all strange pixels should be corrected/eliminated... Thanks for helping! :-)
What do you think about a "switchable" (AA - AT) Morris C9B with 40 mm Bofors gun? :-)
Feel free to make any special request! 8)

T2_2112: I was talking about the Me-262A-1/U4 when I said "big gunned"...

About the stats for the Me-262 Night fighter...
Comparing with the stock game Me-262 day fighter unit, I would give this variant the following changes:

Movement: -1 or -2 (this variant, with al the weight and drag caused by the equipment added was something like 80 km/h slower)
Initiative: At last -1 or -2 should fire first when attacking a bomber, but should fire second when attacked by a high performance propeller driven fighter...
Fuel: This value should be made somewhat higher, as it always carried external tanks (endurance was critiucal for night fighterpatrols)
Air defense: -1... this variant, with less speed and maneuvrability is more vulnerable to enemy interception.

That would be the changes I would make for the eqp file...

And, just another previously released unit gets a little improvement... The Lowe heavy tank. The new icons have slight improvements in the gun barrel, insignia, and deleted some shadow pixels that were on the loose...

Enjoy!

And as we mentioned the Lowe tank... here is a new member of that family... The Lowe equiped with the Uhu II infra-red night targeting system. This addition, as well as the original icon, are the creation of Asuser. You can visit his "units Badges" thread to read some technical info and see some amazin images of this advanced device in action!

Have a nice Uhu night! 8)

Back to the Soviet artillery section... If you (like me) thought that the 203 mm Howitzer M1931 had a fearful look... Well, I discovered that this gun had also a bigger brother... The 280 Mortar M1934 (BR-4).
This gun was very much used in the battle for Berlin. Here are the icons for this big gun, in direct fire and artillery modes, also including its base icon and mask.
Enjoy! 8)
