I’d like to introduce a small mini-campaign for Panzer Corps Modern Conflicts Mod. It currently consists of 3 missions and is mainly intended as a test to see if the setting and atmosphere work for players.

The story takes place in the “War of the Machines”: After the apocalypse, the Resistance fights against the powerful Nexus Systems. The missions feature bunker assaults, the battle for the City of Hope, and encounters with new futuristic units such as the Sky Reaper fighters and Devastator bombers.

This campaign is a test release

I’m working on further improving the gameplay experience. Some units still need balancing – for example, machines should not be able to surrender.

If the campaign continues, I plan to add more combat units and buildings. I also want to create more varied mission objectives. In this small test campaign, they are currently limited to the classic “Capture the objective hexes.”

For a start, I hope it provides some fun and a bit of variety.

The new combat machines and buildings were created by me. They may not be perfect in every detail yet, but I’m still practicing and improving step by step.

Nexus Perimeter Grid

This high-voltage fence developed by Nexus is more than just electrified wire. Its high-frequency Tesla impulses instantly burn organic tissue while simultaneously destroying any electronics. Protective suits or armor offer no defense – whoever touches the grid is lost.

Nexus Rocket Sentry

This air defense system developed by Nexus has a solid average range, sufficient to keep Resistance aircraft at a distance. Moreover, the Nexus system holds absolute air supremacy.

Sentinel Turret

The Sentinel Tower resembles the twin guns of a battleship. It dominates large areas and is highly resilient, but not invincible.

What is not possible in this or similar DLC campaigns:

different animations, for example light effects that look like plasma or laser projectiles

changing national flags

adding new types of sound effects

All of this does not work because it would require changes to the main mod. However, I will continue focusing on DLC campaigns and try to get the best out of them.

I'm pleased that the campaign has been well received. As mentioned, this is a test campaign to see if everything works and creates a positive gaming experience. I'll continue with it, as I'd like to add a few new units and buildings. However, that will take some time.

I've already thought about that. The next step would be to build a campaign where the player takes on the side of the machines.

I'm very busy so i can't try it yet, but it's on the top of my "to download" list

I like the gameplay of Panzer General and its successors, but most of the games were about WWII. I can count the exceptions on one hand (Fantasy General I & II, People General, Star General, 40k Armageddon,... but I admit that I may have forgotten a few). Rushing to Warsaw gets a little repetitive the 50th time ; so I'm all for exploring new worlds with the game engine.

Whether you're continuing your modern campaigns, pulling out your ancient Rome mod, or stepping into a post-apocalyptic setting: I'm in!

PS : I guess your love for Schwarzy has something to do with your choice of setting, isn't it ?

Well the battle for Warsaw 2025 will not hurt as well as Miracle on the Vistula 2.0 as well as for Los Angeles 2029 ! Toby's love for Arnold is probably because they are countrymen )))).

Very nice idea. More of that.

Personally, I am also trying to work on a possible fictional mini campaign... let's see what comes of it.

Great work from you, keep it up. :) :) :)

All those icons you make deserve to be playable in a campaign and not just sleep unused on the forum :D

Hello everyone,
first of all, thank you very much for your positive feedback! You’re right – not everyone is interested in World War II or modern-themed scenarios. But that’s the beauty of this game: the developers included the editor as a generous extra feature for the players.
And yes, I’ve liked Arnie ever since I watched his movies and followed his athletic achievements as a kid and teenager. But in the end, I’m just one of millions of fans.

Imeror, I really hope we’ll get something new from you to play again soon. 8) :?:
Ancient Rome will still have to wait a little longer – it can’t be covered with just a simple DLC campaign. What’s needed is a standalone mod, and right now I don’t yet have enough experience for that. I also want to improve the visual quality of the units first.
