In Modern Conflicts there is no such category as "recon", it is renamed AFV. Recon traits are assigned to various ground and air forces in order to fulfill that function.
Answering your question, in this scenario there shall be no tanks but insted some AFV: FV101 and FV107 for the British and the AML90 for the Argentines, historically there was only one battle involving a battle amongst these vehicles.

Akkula.
Oh, my bad, it was a while since my last run on MdC

Hehe, no problem. I admit to have been abandoned the project for too long

This is the "Argentine" AML90, then why does it have 6 wheels instead of 4 as on the original ) ?
Nice catch!. I chose the wrong icon at the moment of the skin and testing
Thanks

The working on the scenario itself is going on.
The British taskforce is almost ready, still some frigates remain to be done:
And the Argentinian navy is heading to the battle as well:

Nice! These ships mean lots of targes for any trigger happy armchair modern conflict general (or Generalísimo).
I had to google that red Argentine ship, but it has to be the
ARA Almirante Irízar, I suppose? First I thought it could be the
HMS Endurance and was placed in the wrong navy, but then I realised it was not the only red ship, lol. Great job, so far, anyway!

Correct!, thats the ARA Almirante Irízar, she is still serving today. It is a nice massive icebreaker, she participated in a lot of missions and rescue operations.
Logistic and support ships will play a critical role in the scenario, I want to emulate as much as possible the impossible logistics the Argentinians and British had to face in the battle, and these sort of ships will be needed to win.
So far I thought of these set of rules:
- Logistic and support vessels must be sent to specific hexes in order to deploy units (i.e. the British landing crafts and helicopters), prestige and supply boosts.
- Air refuelling. Air tankers have to deployed in specific areas in order to add fuel to other aircrafts. This shall be used for most of the Argentinian air attacks and the British Vulcan bombers from the Ascension island.
- Several supply depots are spread through the islands, everytime the British destroy one of them, the Argentinian forces on the ground shall suffer supply penalties (can be resupplied next turn)
- Maybe some special missions
I am still adding some new units which takes time and I have to create the special hex markers for the scripts I mentioned before. Still I think I made some progress, considering I started to work with this update since the beginning of this month.... and I am an essential worker so I have no free time as much of the world right now
Thanks for your comments
They will come soon. Their creation is taking more time than I thought.
Best regards,
Akkula.

Like if Navy is not enough we have an ICEBREAKER for you =) Reminds me that old "peaceful soviet tractor" joke. But seriously, that's nice touch ^.^

Very nice helicopter icons!
Will there be the merchant fleet and transports as well? I know there was quite a few but I guess ideally there should be at least the more famous ones like Atlantic Conveyor, Sir Galahad, Sir Tristram, maybe QE2?
Another suggestion if you do not mind, as far as I know there are very few trees on the islands so it may be better to reflect it on the map as well - not sure if those earlier pics are from the final map, but it might be a good idea to mostly, if not exclusively, use the bare hill terrain tiles, something like this (this is part of the BE mod showing Iceland):

Hello!
Good sequel
Are you planning to include ground units as airfields?
Which can be physically destroyed. And also which can be built anywhere in switch mode.
Something like Harrier Forward Operating Base.
Are you planning to add ships like a SS Atlantic Conveyor? (again

)
I think the multiplayer version will be very interesting.
Moreover, it seems that we have many months of quarantine ahead.
What will be the number of turn in the scenario?

Thanks!, more helis will come.
And yes there will be merchant ships

, see below, my answer to intenso82.
Regarding the terrain, correct!, not a single forest was added to the scenario. Some pictures of the desolated landscape:
Thanks for your comments.

Hi Intenso82, yup, you read my mind

. Destroyable airfields are key to the this scenario: if the British player manage to destroy them, the Argentinian air units on the island will starve badly.
But there will be no deployable airfield for the British, they have to rely (as it was historically) on the aircraft carriers, they are the heart of the task force and they should be the main target of the Argentinian planes.
Atlantic Conveyor is ready to go!:

Here is alongside the Sir Galahad and one of her sisters Round Table-Class cargo ships.
As you can see I gave the Atlantic Conveyor the aircraft carrier class, this is because of the gameplay (too many air units for the Brits, they need some carrier help

) and historically that ship was used as a "small" heli carrier.
Best regards,
Akkula.

I am not deep in this subject, but I read something about FOB.
And for a multiplayer game, the variable element with a mobile airfield can be exciting.
