1.) They're probably on roads, right? Roads can extend the speed/range of units.

Yes ,they are going on the road.

Intended: It's the German Gebirgsjäger unit. Zoom in and you'll see the skis...

Hey, I’ve found some 3D models which should be easily downloadable… These aren’t yet .mdb files, but maybe they can easily be converted? ‘Could help, I don’t know (but I do hope so ). In the mix, there is at least a model of the famous F-86 Sabre. So, just in case, here they are:
Well, if it’s working, there are certainly other models (as maybe some helicopters as well) which may be useful…

According to the (roughly translated French version of the) Wiki's "Korean War":
"In the last days of June 1950, the Chinese air force deployed its first air brigade to North Korea. It consists of :
38 MiG-15s
39 La-11
39 Tu-2 (bombers)
25 Il-10 (ground attack)
14 Yak-12 (training).
On the 1st September 1951, an estimated 525 MiG-15s were in service under North Korean cockpits. By early June 1952, the air force of the People's Republic of China numbered some 1,830 aircraft, including about 1,000 fighters. As of 31st July 1953, the People's Republic of China still had nine fighter corps (nearly 500 MiG-15s) and two bomber corps (54 Tu-2s) in the Korean theatre. In spite of their size, the communist air force was never able to effectively support its army, let alone act strategically on the American rear."
So, there should be as well La-9 (from USSR!) and La-11 (both models being propeller fighters, not jets!), some Tu-2 and Il-10, and maybe some Yak as well (?).
About the Il-10: But those that Westerners had named "Beast" had become priority targets for the US Air Force and its fighters such as the North American F-86 Sabre. In particular, the Il-10 was seen as a psychological weapon against the morale of American troops.
By the way, it seems that the MiG-17 could have joined the War towards its end...

If the previous F-86 Sabre model isn't working, maybe this one will do the trick?
The flag on this picture had confused me a little; it's now somehow "generic" because from United Nations... Actually, the 2nd plane, it's already looking as an US F-86 Sabre, isn't it? By the way, it's wearing a rather strange color/texture, don't you think so?
Well, of course the MiG-15 (an awesome 3D model!) needs now some corresponding 2D picture...
Besides, simple curiosity, what kind (or "name") of helicopter is it?
And... Well, well, okay, I shall not forget that it's a work-in-progress right now... But I have to say that it does look very promising!
Now about where these 3D models come from, to be honest I don't really care as long as they are working well within this new mod-in-progress... Unless there are plenty of other models useful within OoB, I think indeed it doesn't matter much (for me at least).
These look amazing! Great work! And choppers, nice.

Thanks, Colonel, as always for your interest and (great) enthusiasm for the works, but this is Erik's project and I'm basically just the "sub-contractor".
Until he opens an "official" Korean War thread, I'm only doing the models that he'll actually need for the upcoming scens/campaign.
The previous models are just tests out of my "Gabe" mod.
And FYI: they're the MiG-15 and F-86 jets, MI8 and Ka27 (twin/coaxial rotor) helicopters.
And (also) Thanks for trying to help with the models, but for me to be able to include them in OoB, they need to be specific. For example they need to be UV mapped already. I'm sorry, but I'm not willing to learn and do this by myself. UV mapping, unwrapping, no thanks.
I'm also no artist to make the texture from scratch. I need one with the model. Modifying them a bit and recoloring, that I can do.

Where these 3D models come from ?

Those look amazing!!!
Thanks, although it seems I won't be needing them after all...
Coming mod updates:
- minor cost changes to the Brit Spitfires to rebalance them with the TempestV
- added a 1943 upgrade to the Armoured Train and reduced supply back to 3 (testing and rebalancing now)
- tests with the chassis/terrain changes work great so far and I'm keeping them in the mod
Completed BurmaRoad with the changes and it plays very well so far. Where to go next? I think the units out of the German, Soviet and Finnish faction have been play-tested enough...
Actually I think I'll give conboy's 3D ID "Doom" campaign a go, now that I've finished the whole US branch with Erik's '44-'45 campaign.
This could be just what I need to test some of the changes I've made (and plan to do) in my mod.
I've tested some terrain disruption variations lately, e.g. frozen and arid swamp should have less of an effect, on the other hand adding efficiency loss to the forest was a bad idea. It was too much in the end, slowed gameplay down, didn't like it.
But I (still) think that rough desert and hills (difficult terrain) should have at least a litte effect on efficiency...I'll adapt and continue testing...

Keep up Gabe. After New Britain, I concluded that your mod is capable to add a new, immersive, challenge to the game.
