Hi Jon,
Not to cause you grief, but, what happens if I download this package?
I over-wrote the directory GJS44 in the multiplayer folder.
What I thought would happen was I would see all of the June 6th and June 7th available battles.
But they don't appear to be additive? I think I erased all my June 6th battles by accident.
I was sort of hoping as things went along to replay some of these battle maps from previous days,
to add some variety (if anyone else outside the campaign is downloading them) to my side games.

Two small issues, under battle situation, you have II/22/21Pz and I/22/21Pz switched...icons on the map are correct.

Jon, did what you said to get update on GJS44...But, now there are only 2 GJS44 maps available...Vimont and Villers...nothing else.
Are you going to add the others later?? Or, is something wrong with DL....

Lol... thanks Al... and sorry guys... I guess I got distracted by too many posts and emails yesterday, so didn't get around to doing our battle maps until 3am London time... after I'd done my actual work... Would you believe that I actually had 21Pz the other way around but then thought it was wrong, checked it, and swapped to the way it is now... DOH!!

Ok players... Nobody start the Vimont or Villers-Bocage games!!

1. I'm going to fix our maps (need to swap three StuGs and Marders)
2. We're going to announce some player side swaps
3. We're going to form a Rules Council of 2 players from each side, to solve boring rules stuff. I've had a couple of long emails already, from one side, and it's clear that I'm failing to keep everyone happy on rules, GMing and my day job.

Stop playing. We'll fix this and restart, hopefully later today, but latest over the weekend.
Thanks for your patience everyone...

Hey, while we're all waiting to fix out a few, final niggles, so we can all continue and play... I thought I'd share a fascinating fact...

Bitly tells me that we've had >100 downloads for our GJS'44 campaign June 6th scenarios... from 10 different countries...

And that's excluding the 5 new players playtesting the June 7th scenarios (to make sure they're clean for you guys) and another 12 that downloaded Vimont and Villers-Bocage (nobody's played 'em yet, right? ;-)).

Sometimes it might feel a bit painful... And humble apologies to everyone for that... But at the end of the day, we're all contributing to bringing some awesome maps and a great new set of campaign rules to the BA community... How cool is that?

Thanks everyone for all of your help and involvement!

I'll follow our General and I'll step down as well.

It was a real pleasure to fight in GJS, congrats to everyone in it and hopefully we'll do this again in the future.

Hang on a tick! I'm just stepping down as a player...I hope to continue as a GM...PM sent with my idea there, let me know Jon.

The rest of you, stop idling about, we've got a war to fight!

Hey Mac, thanks for your PM. That's a brilliant idea! It's an honour and a privilege to work with you.

Gents, to give you the lowdown...

Brummbar (Mac) has generously offered to co-GM our GJS'44 campaign. Bringing Mac's experience and wisdom into fully GM'ing will take '44 up to a higher level... and then some! Thanks for this Mac. I really appreciate it.

Mac will continue sharing his (truly awesome :D ) dynamic Strategic Map. I'll keep designing our new battle maps and setting up scenarios for each day. Between us, we'll maintain the Rules & Regs, and manage the progress of the campaign, so that it continues to be great fun and fair for everyone.

June 7th orders and battles stand... I've got some family commitments this morning, so I'll aim to upload our maps gradually through Saturday afternoon (UK time).

Mac & I will have a powwow about any rule mods for June 8th and beyond, and if we should take a vote on anything...

We look forward to reading your after action reports (AARs) from Vimont, Villers-Bocage and Caen... Good luck lads!

Hey Al, Sorry, I'm missing something here. I've just checked the Vimont and Villers-Bocage uploads. I've got II/22/21Pz (with 3 Marders rather than 3 StuGs) in Vimont right? Isn't that correct? My brain clearly suboptimal still today...

Good point Justin! I'll re-upload our June 7th folder so that it's additive with all of the June 6th scenarios still inside.
Players will have to remember which day they're playing (because there might be multiple games in the same sector, eg Gold beach).
But it would be great to keep a full campaign of scenarios available to everyone.
Will do! :D

Double doh! Oops, I've just realised you meant the text under the map, not the actual downloadable battles... Phew... Thanks for the heads up, Al

Hey Mike,

Yes, that's correct. I dropped June 6th (but I'm going to add it back as per Justin's request above).

I have to create June 7th as two downloads, one dl for the two 21Pz games and another dl for other three games, because the easiest way to make the "out of supply" penalty changes (to morale) is through squads.csv. And there can only be only squads.csv file for each campaign... so, while morale penalties are in, I have to upload as two different campaigns.

I've posted on the Mods Thread to ask if anyone knows a smarter way to handle this... perhaps through multiple squads.csv? Anyone?

Gentlemen,

Vimont and Villers-Bocage battles are back up for download again...
Justin, I've dropped Gold, Juno & Sword (from June 6th) back in too, if you want to replay anytime...
Am working on the three "out of supply" games now...

How to download the GJS'44 maps into Battle Academy
GottaLove88s wrote:Ok guys,

1. Run BA on your Mac, PC or iPad
2. If you do not already have GJS'44 on your system, skip ahead to Step 8
3. Choose Multiplayer (at the bottom)
4. Log in to Multiplayer as usual
5. Choose the My Challenges tab (at the top) then press New Challenge
6. Select a GJS'44 Campaign scenario and then Delete Campaign (bottom right)
7. Press X until you get back to BA start screen
8. Choose Campaigns (at the bottom)
9. Choose Download Community Scenarios (at the top)
10. Choose Download a Campaign Package from the Internet (top right)
11. Type http://bit.ly/BA88gjs44 into the URL box
12. Click the green tick
13. Back at the campaigns list, select "GJS44 v1.2 - June 7th" and click Download the Selected Campaign (bottom centre)
14. This should download everything that you need
15. Press X until you get back to the BA start screen and choose Multiplayer
16. Log in to Multiplayer as usual
17. Either go to the My Challenges tab and click the New Challenge arrow. This list will now show the GJS'44 v1.2... Vimont and Villers-Bocage
18. Or go to the Accept Challenges tab and click the scenario that you're supposed to be fighting (if your opponent has already setup your game)

After all that, you can play GJS'44 on any platform... Phew!!

Thanks Leci, Just double checked the orders (and attached 'em below so everyone can catch up easily).

857/346 got caught in Gold (by 9/3 deploying) so it lost its move. If 857 loses, it will get the usual withdrawal tho. It will be a tough battle. Alex will have to fight clever...
June 7th Orders & Battles wrote:]If June 6th was "Brummbar's Gambit" (ballsy airborne grab for Vimont and Villers-Bocage), June 7th looks set to become "The Longest Day" for the Brit Parachute Brigades...

5al/6 and 3/6ab are now expected to hold out against four German mixed/armoured brigades deploying into Vimont and Villers-Bocage, while 6al/6 attempts to take Caen from the weak Ost/411/716 garrison, and then, potentially, to hold the city against the reinforcing mixed armour of 125/21Pz.

Meanwhile, there is consolidation on the beaches, with 9/3 anticipating an easy "clean up" on Gold, and 69/50 and 7/3cdn combining a one-two punch to deny German utilisation of Hillman Battery... Can II/726/716 hold out in favourable territory? Can 857/346 avoid dissolution in any operational strength?

I/736/716 and II/736/716 merge together in Buron. The weaker I/736/716 is eliminated from the remainder of the campaign (with 3 deserting volksgrenadiers).

CONFIRMED BATTLES (bonuses/penalties in brackets)

Gold: 9/3 (AMR) ASD v 857/346 (P-)
Caen*: 6al/6 (AMR+) ME v Ost/411/716 (P-)
Vimont: II/22/21Pz (AP) AFD v 3/6ab (MR)
Hillman Battery: 69/50 (NMR) AFD v II/726/716 (AMRP-)
Villers-Bocage: I/22/21Pz AFD (AP) v 5al/6 (MR)

-indicates battle fought under “out of supply” morale penalty
+airlanding (vs airborne) brigade will suffer minimal scattering with most units together and some opportunity for redeployment

POTENTIAL SUBSEQUENT BATTLES (pending first results)

125/21Pz in Vimont or Caen
3/6ab (MR) in Vimont
6al/6 (AMR) in Caen
7/3cdn (N) in Hillman Battery
II/726/716 (AMRP-) in Hillman Battery
192/21Pz in Villers-Bocage
5al/6 (MR) in Villers-Bocage
8/3 in Gold
