The alternative story is also interesting, especially since I am very curious about the plot, as France will play an unusual role here.

Here, a liter of diesel now costs over €2!
It's worth the trip.

540 L × €2 ≈ over €1000 for one full tank.
Fuel consumption off-road: about 400–500 liters per 100 km.

Hi Niki, congratulations on the new campaign, amazing content as always! I love the art work. I think I caught another bug in Fall Weiss, Modlin bridgehead scenario. When polish 155 mm wz 17 howitzer switches to anti tank role it still has range of 3, like a normal piece of artillery. It massacred my tanks

Thanks for the praise and thanks for informing me about the super 155mm. I had a look, found the culprit and corrected it.

Well, i could release the 16 scenarios that are ready.
Scenario 17 and 18 are ready for a playtest, that could be the first update.
Eventually a few more scenarios would be the second and final update.
In order to release the 16 scenarios, i still have to do the translations, that is a job of a few hours.
Version 10c of my armory will be required to play and currently i am in the progress of adding new units which i require for one of the updates. When this and the translations are done, than i can post. My estimate is this week.

Operation Charlemagne v0.1 is now available for download.

The zipped archive contains the Charlemagne folder, which should be placed in your mod directory. It also includes the Charlemagne GME folder, which is optional and only required if you wish to use the custom French flags.

The archive additionally contains “Art” featuring various images and materials that were created and previously posted on the forum.

Please note that the latest version of my Armory (v10c) is required to play the campaign.

Lead a French army through Luxembourg, Belgium, and the Netherlands. Halt Hitler’s panzers in Alsace and crush a joint British–German operation at Calais and Dunkirk. Claim the whole of Baskenland and let the Italians taste French steel in Tunisia.

In short, this release contains the first 16 scenarios of Operation Charlemagne.

I hope you enjoy playing this campaign as much as I enjoyed creating and testing it.

Operation Charlemagne v0.1**

Operation Charlemagne**.

Надеюсь, что эта кампания принесёт вам столько же удовольствия, сколько мне принесло её создание и тестирование.

Thank you, Nico! I started playing the English version at first, then remembered that you do localisation in Russian too. It's a great start to bring the spy from the enemy's rear to your territory. So far, I haven't been able to bring him out because his squad is fragile or doesn't have enough time to move. The spy's life depends a lot on randomness. Sometimes he can withstand attacks without losses, and sometimes he is destroyed very quickly. Also, in the purchase menu, some units don't have photos showing what they look like.

And I figured out how to complete this mission ) We don't cross the border hexes, we deploy our troops in an operational space , quickly defeat the Dutch who are getting in the way, then sneakily capture all the Belgian cities to boost our prestige ) We deliver the agent to the designated point B ) As usual, I'm attaching replays and screenshots! To be continued...

I was making such good progress in my French blitzkrieg until hordes of British troops turned up (incidentally, my engineering unit has a British insignia ))) I might even replay the penultimate mission I’ve reached just to secure a victory, as my tactics didn’t result in a decisive win this time, unlike before )

The resistance is growing; the challenges required for a decisive victory are getting tougher and tougher, and my army is constantly plagued by a lack of prestige points and new troops )) But we’re pressing on anyway )

The scariest thing about this mod is the Dutch partisan movement, which has tanks, armoured vehicles, saboteurs and the partisans themselves at its disposal; there are hordes of them, and in terms of aggressiveness, they can give the Soviet and Yugoslav partisans a run for their money ) In the penultimate mission, I missed out on a decisive victory by just one turn – that bloody bunker just wouldn’t blow up, no matter what I did. Looks like I’ll have to replay it ))) More details, as always, in the screenshots and replay!

I replayed the mission and achieved a decisive victory ) I spent all my prestige on healing and upgrading my troops ) But it looks like I’ll have to sell my planes as well, since I don’t need them in winter and they’re not allowed to be used ) With the proceeds, I’ll probably have to buy some more garrisons to stop the frenzied partisan horde that’s destroying my warehouse without regard for casualties )

I sold a couple of my planes and bought some more ground troops; in the end, I crushed the partisan movement with a decisive victory, but in the next mission, I didn’t have enough turns left to get the German observers to the right hex for a decisive victory. Now I’m wondering whether to replay this mission or carry on fighting the Germans with a minor victory. The German PZ-3 tanks really surprised and annoyed me on my swift and triumphant path.

Image Image Image Image

Image Image

I decided not to replay the mission involving the delivery of German observers, figuring that war with the Germans was inevitable anyway. In the end, I was beaten to a pulp for the first time, with my entire army wiped out in the process. I’ve attached screenshots and a replay of this humiliation ))) In my defence, I can only say that there were a lot of Germans and they overwhelmed me with their numbers. The reinforcements I was given died ingloriously like flies. Personally, I find it very strange, logically speaking, that our border guards weren’t reinforced with additional troops, as you really shouldn’t let your guard down when faced with a war like this.
