The Arabs took control of a marsh and wood on the left flank and used that to support an attack which rather luckily won the day on the left, while the centre and right held firm. Some lucky bedouin light horse charges caused enough disruption to hold up the right flank attack. good game - well played.

A brutal, bruising battle as is expected from Konstantin. I had a strange bug in the game. My HCH had started with quite possibly 170/144, rather than the normal 144/144. Not sure if anybody else had something similar. He was on (I think), 138/144 at the end of the battle, which may have been approx 112/144. However I am guessing initially he had a better advantage?

Morat (Franks) beat Badger73 (Palmyrians) 63-44

Franks allowed themselves to get drawn into a narrow battlefield. Cataphracts pounded both flanks, and the warbands tried to make progress in the centre against stubborn heavy foot. In the end, the sub-Roman foot on the left flank managed to hold out for long enough to allow the warbands, and cavalry, to find flanks and break though.

Many thanks to Badger73 for the battle. I was comprehensively out-generalled, and on another day the scores would have been reversed.

Aetius (Franks) defeats Triarii (French) 64-57

The French bravely assaulted a hill the Franks were defending on, and their better infantry made ground in the middle, while on their right they slowly overpowered the less numerous units. The Franks were over-extended, and took some time to get their right side into action, but the center held long enough where the right circled and flanked/routed a number of French units. The fighting was brutal, and it wasn't until the end that it was clear who would win. GG to my opponent who could have easily won if a few things had gone differently.

The game only just finished before turn 24 after two thirds of the play was a dance of redeployment - eventually the Visigoth cavalry supported by all the Visigoth light missiles were able to overwhelm the Bosporan left flank and roll up the infantry.
