My remaining two Division C challenges from the Swiss (dav956):
out to BuriniusAgricolae: pw "Burinius"
out to cromlechi: pw "cromlechi"
to all my former opponents, it's been a real learning experience...getting thrashed is the best education!
best, dav956 (Swiss)

Div C
tullius (Macedonians) 41/42 bt bailey4500 (Dacians) 43/43
That's what I call close. A light unit fragged in a rear hit on the last unit moved in the last turn was all that was in it.

DRAW
Initiative = massina_nz (I think?)
A most savage draw it was. One cohesion roll away from victory.

As my second last unit routed, it forced a cohesion roll for the last one who failed. Quite funny.
Ghaznavids won initiative - and I didn't really deserve the draw either.

Div A
Fedem Classical Spartans 38/50 vs Lydians 53/48
After 23 turns the Spartans were able to avoid the outflanking and rear attacks by the superior Enemy cavalry and step by step succeeded on the uphill charge to take the hill.
Thanks to davouthojo for the longest battle I ever played.
Cheers!

Imperial C
Ironclad (Pr. Roman 228-59) 19/37 vs Solly (Foederate Roman E.) 54/53
Solly won the initiative and cleverly deployed his infantry heavy force to make full use of the terrain and place the advancing Principates under heavy arrow fire. Only through a major redeployment to the left were the latter able to force the enemy into significant hand to hand combat where superior fighting power brought success. Good game.

Pretty sure won the initiative tight all the way to the end if I hadn't won in this turn I was toast as my left had gone and all his cavalry remnants were through and about to charge my line in the rear but hey enough Feta and I got there

Div A
davouthojo (WOTR Yorkist) 22/54 vs 43/41 (Medieval Castillian) Triarius
Yorkists won initiative. The Castilian knights waited impassively as the Yorkists picked their way out of the rough, and advanced over the open plain, banners streaming. Trumpets sounded and the knights charged in........when the dust settled, it could be seen that luck was not with the Spanish that day....they had routed some longbowmen, but the cream of Castilian Chivalry lay in crumpled piles around the pike blocks........

Div A
hidde (Latin Greece-Achaia) 21/46
ericdoman1 (Medieval German-later) 48/47
Initiativ: hidde
Winning intiativ most certainly were the biggest factor here. Two big patches of rough terrain with a quite narrow open space in between
All my Almughavars in one and all the rest in the other. The Almughavars had to wait since the Swiss had no intention getting too close.
The turning point came when my knights boldly rode into the other patch of rough terrain. Slow going but even slower for HF.
They could avoid most pikes, beat the few they encountered together with HW. Now the way lay open to fall the Swiss in the back.
As it were that wasn't necessary...the Almughavars beat them on their own
