A great job has been done, congratulations

Before I start playing the campaign with large maps (I played the first 3-4 rounds of Poland scn, really cool) I decided to play Africa Korps
I understand that it is still in work ?
Desert camouflage for tanks would be especially useful - noticed that recon and artillery already have such a camouflage
I also like the commander artwork, I received 1 commander like this during Battleaxe
Thanks

When it comes to American paratroopers of World War II, we immediately think of the already famous 101 and 82 Airborne Divisions. Daredevils, of which they became famous throughout Europe for their spectacular landings. At the same time, however, there was a lesser-known force on the Pacific front, the Marines-parachutists (paramarines).

The 3,000-man unit was called the 1st Marine Parachute Regiment. Like their Army counterparts, the parachutists enjoyed special privileges: pay was higher (because of the danger of the job) and they used different, better equipment and gear to achieve their higher goals. But the standards of admission were also higher, and all fighters were required to be unmarried.

The aspect of interest, however, is the use of the unique American small arms of the period: the Reising submachine guns, the self-loading rifle, and the Johnson light machine gun.

For their actions in the Pacific, the Marine paratroopers were hailed as the hellhounds of the entire Marine Corps, with missions to Guadalcanal, Bougainville, and the Solomon Islands campaign on the regiment's record. The regiment had the highest casualty rate for killed and wounded during operations at Guadalcanal, 20 percent of its personnel. It was the highest casualty rate of the entire Corps during that operation.

Despite the paratroopers' qualifications, the regiment hardly ever "jumped," the exception being the landing of a small group in the skies over France, to assist French resistance guerrillas. Otherwise, the paratroopers were landed by sea, like regular Marines. This was due to two factors: the KMP's lack of landing planes, and the paratroopers' dependence on Army aviation, and the small amount of space suitable for air landing in the Pacific theater, since combat operations were conducted either in dense jungle or on well-fortified tiny islands.

On December 30, 1943, the 1st Marine Parachute Regiment was disbanded and its men were transferred to other units in the Corps, most of them transferred to the 5th Marine Division, which landed on Iwo Jima on February 19, 1945. Soldiers of this very unit are depicted in the photo "Raising the American Flag".

Hi ajs81,

Operation Sonnenblume

I won a marginal victory. I did not observe any specific problem.
When the player captures a city he receives three trucks.
I understand why you used a truck deploying mines but not the two other trucks (what is their purpose ?)

This is a very good scenario on DAK side. Map is outstanding.
German tanks should have desert camo.
I love camo of British tanks. Spitfires & Hurricanes should have camo too.

Congrats for this scenario!

These trucks are just an accessory. The most important change is to replenish losses after these trucks land in Benghazi. As for the camouflage, PHACAS is the right man;) I only make maps and set up units according to the history of WWII: D

Just a quick question, are Swedish troops also planned? Working on a non-historical mod, so Sweden is part of it.
Thanks for this fantastic mod

Hello moonwalkers,

since Sweden was neutral from 1939 to 1945, we have no plans to create units for that nation at this time.

Best regards

It seems to me that this may be an oversight, but the large German pontoon bridge (K) that allowed me to transfer my troops over the Nile river (south of Cairo) doesn't work on the Suez Canal... :?: :?: :?:

EDIT. The canal is 160-300 meters wide, the Nile is even almost 3 km wide (2,8) and it can probably be assumed that in the vicinity of Cairo, the Nile may be over 1 km wide at least

Hi Kondi,

From a historical point of view, it was probably not tried, but in principle I think that it was technically possible.
A pontoon bridge is a collection of specialized shallow-draft boats or floats connected together to cross a river or canal, with a track or deck attached at the top, which can be extended virtually indefinitely when the swell is calm.

In 1945, the 107th Combat Engineers built the longest pontoon bridge in history, across the Rhine, allowing the Allies to enter Germany :

There was a misunderstanding :) , I don't mean the Nile, but that the large pontoon bridge does not work on the Suez Canal during may game, the units don't have an extended range to cross the canal over the bridge but only standard move - 2x 1 hex move to get to the other side
I gave the example of the Nile because if everything worked there it should also work on the canal

Where can I find the list of changes/fixes in the new patch?

Re bridge over Nile river: Generally, I agree that building a crossing should not be a problem even on such a wide river

There is no list of changes for update v1.20. If you look in the map Panzer Corps/graphics/units from the update, you will see the new and updated units from the update.

If you look in the map Panzer Corps/Data from the update, you will see the new and updated scenario names.

In update v1.20 there is an expansion of Australian, Canadian, South African and New Zeeland units..

Also an expansion of German and UK Desert camo graphics. This will be continued in coming updates.

Greetings PHCAS
