Tough game as the Venetians faced three units of Landsknecht keils in battle. Scandinavian foot and crossbowmen, however, proved more fragile. The Venetians chipped off units around the periphery, just about keeping the Landsknechts at bay with sacrificial dismounted men-at-arms, and the valiant charge of some Venetian crossbowmen into Landsknecht's rears sealed the deal. However, it is easy to imagine a situation where the Venetians were trampled underfoot by the Landsknecht advance, deftly supported by the Danes' mobile cavalry.
