This morning it was nearly OK with the server. Right now impossible to download the game with my opponent mchargmg. I'll try later.
It is always worth logging out of FOG and going back in again almost immediately. Sometimes you can get access to your games quite quickly doing this, Mike.

FOG Digital ratings for January 1st 2014 . . .
Posted: Thu Oct 03, 2013 6:46 pm
by stockwellpete
Until now the rating system that has been used for FOG has been based entirely on the results of the League of Extraordinary Gentlemen (LOEG). With the launch of the FOG Digital League and a revamped LOEG still in the offing, we can now announce the launch of the brand new FOG Digital ratings to replace the old LOEG ratings. The main points about this new system are as follows -
i) The FOG Digital League will provide the core of the new ratings. Other well established tournaments such as LOEG and the Companions Cup will also attract rating points (pantherboy has already agreed that data from LOEG can be used).
ii) The FOG Digital League seasons will start on February 1st, June 1st and October 1st each year and the close season months will be January, May and September. Therefore the ratings will be updated just 3 times a year from now on - on January 1st, May 1st and September 1st.
iii) To keep the ratings list fresh and up to date, data from just the last 2 periods will be used in the calculations. For example, when the ratings are done in January 2014 they will be based on data from the last two periods - from June 1st and from October 1st. All data from the period February to May 2013 will be expunged.
iv) In terms of the calculations, if we use the FOG Digital League as the basic template, we will avoid using half points in future, so instead of using a 10-7-5-3 points system for the A, B, C and D divisions (as we did in LOEG), we will now move to a 12-8-6-4 points system for Season 1 of the FOG Digital League.
v) The themed section in the FOG Digital League will be rated as an A division throughout.
vI) 15 tournament games will be the new threshold for getting a FOG Digital rating. This will mean that new players who complete 2 divisions in their first season (18 games) will now qualify for a rating straight away.
Any questions?

Message for Division D players:
Please note: Socalwarhammer (Pat) still does not have access to the forum but he is in regular touch with me by e-mail. He has put a number of challenges on the system for this division but they appear as eplowinger, the password for all of them is "Game". We will try and resolve which user name Pat will be using in the next few days.
