The match ended on Turn 23 with Swuul incurring 60% casualties a turn before we would have timed out. The game declared my side victorious but it feels more like a draw than a win to me. This was a brutal encounter where both army's units made heroic stands and neither side gave way.

A very tough battle with reversals of the front and mutual outflanking. In the end the Romans prevailed but at a high price.

A fun, chaotic melee that happened to end in a Germanic victory. Good game to Bagatrix1805!

Kerait - Germanic Foot Tribes 105 BC-259 AD - defeats ulysisgrunt - Seleucid 166-125 BC with Jewish allies 163-111 BC - 60-39

Extremely close match. The Germans took hideous casualties at the beginning facing Romanised troops, cataphracts, phalanxes, zealots and top-tier Macedonian cavalry head-on but the grinding down of the Seleucid medium foot, the absence of the cavalry chasing fleeing units off the map and the rallies of a couple of warbands gave the Germans an opening to turn the tables. In the end, a higher concentration of force in the places that really counted meant that the Germans could flank and smash the phalanxes, just about eking out a victory. The game could easily have gone either way.

A good time had by all touring the countryside and discussing radishes, boredom and the great circle of life...
...then some git spilled his beer, tripped and accidently advanced colliding with the opposing flank and all hell broke loose along the front.

Fortunately by this advanced stage night was fast approaching, forcing the cessation of hostilities until our next 24 turn encounter.

Just to clarify, Macedonians suffered 36% losses to Seleucid suffered 43% losses.
