Slitherine

The draw will take place in about half an hour's time. First of all I will draw the 12 first round matches involving 24 players. The 20 players who are not drawn out will get byes to the second round. Then I will draw the second round matches. The future winners of the 12 first round matches will constitute the first 6 second round matches (i.e. winner of match 3 v winner of match 11) and the 20 players receiving a bye will constitute the remaining 10 second round matches. This will result in 16 players contesting the third round. The reason for doing the draw this way is so that everyone gets a match to start on Monday. I am concerned that if I keep 20 players hanging around for another 2 weeks then some may drift away resulting in second round byes. The draw is completely unseeded so any match-up is possible. The tournament schedule is unaffected and 4 weeks will be given to complete all first and second round matches.

Either player may set up a match in this tournament. Remember to PM your opponent as well as placing the challenge and password in this thread.

For matches in this tournament players will select "Open Battle" and will field a "Medium" army and choose a "Medium" battlefield unless otherwise directed. Players are free to customise their army before each battle so "Default" is the correct Force Selection option. Terrain will always be "Pot Luck" unless otherwise specified. There are no exceptions to this standard set-up for a match. If a match is set-up incorrectly for any reason then it must be re-started as soon as possible.

Reporting the result of a match is the responsibility of the winning player. However, if you are the loser in a match and notice that the result has not been posted within 24 hours please post the result yourself.

The final % scores for each player are taken from the in-battle display in the top left-hand corner of the screen and not the Battle Summary screen that appears after the battle has ended where losses are adjusted for wounded and deserted troops.

Yes, I thought something like that might happen when most of the top-rated players avoided being drawn in the first round. So there was pantherboy, klayeckles, ianiow, dkalenda, Triarii, harveylh and CheAhn all waiting to be drawn out in the second round matches.
