Lol, this gamey trick might just work. It's totally ridiculous, but if Moriss is exploiting the game's systems, so can you.

If he somehow recovers from your attack in the East, then it means that sth is REALLY screwed up with the game balance.

Well. Yeah, i am planning a couple other gamey tricks like that. I am actually quite good at that myself. wait till you see in 2 turns...

As to recovering, its more or less how the Axis can recover... Yes, the russians are erased from the map almost, but my manpower paid for it... I am safe for the winter 42, he can only hurt me in concentrated areas (like the north), but other than that he wont be able to do anythign in the south. Hell, i might continue the offensive by myself!

Do you have a chance now to build reinforcements for France so you can finally get rid of the Allies there?

If you think about it it's really not that gamey. This is one penalty he pays for not having a navy. If he did he could easily deal with the axis transports.

Launched a MECH and an INF last turn. Will build a tank and an SS soon. Also will rail a tank from the eastern front, which should be quiet for a while. You guys havent actually seen the next turn, i will post it when i receive Moriss turn...

I dont think i will be able to get the allies out during the bad winter months... At least his airpower wont be as effective.

Exactly my toughts... If he moves whats left from his navy there wont be enough to cover the beaches in Normandy. Anyway i can move them as soon as any ship arrive.

By the way guys i was looking at this. I dont rememebr who said this AAR has taken a life of its own...

But we "broke" the record of the number of replies/posts. The highest one before that was my America in Flames AAR.

Actually I would not be so optimistic. Mutual destruction never favoured axis, and Max have little or no good weather turns to actually take from russians some fat resources like Moscow or Stalingrad.

On the other hand if Morris keep ignoring reality and send every few soviet units he have to battle, he will never rebuild soviet army into something powerful.

I agree with you Plaid.

Its not about optimisism in overtaking Omsk. Its about resisting the allies. 1942 will close without the Axis loosing big on east or west because of the weather. This will enable me to rebuild a little bit.

1943 should see some sharp action in Normandy, and the begginning of renewed russian offensive. I firmly believe that moriss will launch himself into it right away. With the kind of beating he took, he should be better to wait till summer 1944, but we all know he wont... So i might be able to get rid of some more russians by then...

So if i can resist solidly till end-summer 1944 in the east and either contain or destroy the western allies in Normandy, i can trade space for time in 1944 and ride out the thing in Germany...

Don't be ridiculous. I also hope that Max will win this and would love to see Moriss being beaten by his own tricks, but can you imagine a naval blockade with a bunch of transport ships? Me neither. It's gamey as hell. However, it would also be very easy to fix if other units could pass through transports as if they were not there.

No, not gamey at all. Those aren't 'transports'--they're armed merchant ships. The type that the British were so worried about as commerce raiders (or was that in WWI?).

You are talking about auxiliary cruisers. This is a strange interpretation. They were not amphibious invasion ships or transport ships IRL and they were not used for blocking ports, but sinking convoys. We all know that Max is using transports for this.

You can't block anything with a ship from point of realism. You can destroy something, which tryes to move through your ships, but you can't forbid to move into area only by having your ships here. So its abstract anyway.

IMO nothing wrong with this move, if the Allies have squandered away their entire navy so they cannot even stop three transports then they deserve it. Also, the Free French are magically teleporting into Dakar in any case so....

But don't the Free French also come with a BB?
