Sorry for the off colour comment. I was trying to be funny. As per my original post, your badges look great and I appreciate the historical research that you went through.
That's OK, and thank you for your reply.
Actually, Chinese characters represent words of the language using several strategies. A few characters, including some of the most commonly used, were originally pictograms, which depicted the objects denoted, or ideograms, in which meaning was expressed iconically.
The character "Han" has relationship with "river", but the section in the right side didn't represent pictogram but for pronuanciation. I asked my father who was a collage professor research Chinese characters and pronuanciation to confirm.
But there is another character of "堇" is very similar with it, in modern description which means clay, but the origin is more likely someone get burned by fire and sacrifice himself to ask rainfall.
Thanks for the explanation and your understanding. Locally, we engage in pre-tournament smack talk. No offense was intended, just a "friendly" banter. Cultural differences are real. Best of luck in the tournament.

Hola!
3- Symbol/colors/emblem of team.

How soon do we need to decide on our army list?
To whom should we submit our selection? Do we turn it into our captain for a team submission, or do we send them individually to one of the organizers?
Regards
Karvon

Hi K
Prob good to send to your captain first so he has the info and then send it to each of us. Including your reserves.
Hopefully you have a really good look at army lists for each period.
Have you got a team name and emblem/symbol.
Mike/Triarii is designing the tables. We have a table showing all of the teams, reserves etc. Once we have received everybody's we will have a "topic post" for list of players, periods, reserves, emblems etc for all to see.
This will be done at the same time as the random draw for the group stage and for all to see who is playing whom. It is random so a bit excited about that. I believe we will have a third party, someone not involved in playing to do the draw.
Cheers
Eric

If you go to

That is our Agenda, formulated really by Slitherine. I would say lists are to be in at the very latest 9th September but we will need to confirm that as well as a few other things.
Swords and Scimitars is being released and RBS has told us we need to change dates as the patches etc will affect games big time. So we need Slitherine to give us new date(s)

I would suggest setting a deadline of Aug 31 which would give you some time to sort out any issues that might arise.

Karvon

A valid point but who knows Slitherine may now consider starting before then. I wanted that to happen as it would be the end of DL 11 season and so for at least most of the group stage games, there'd be more time to complete BUT not to be, we shall see.

Never thought I'd see the say that the Great White North would get in trouble for smack talk before Team USA would.

I probably would never have said that if I had not learned such smack talk from my American friends at miniatures tournaments In the USA. It is expected and no one takes offense. This was tame by comparison to what I have heard there. Good luck, everyone. Don't give away our team name

My understanding of the Spanish coat of arms is that those represent the Pillars of Hercules. Good stuff.

You are right. I think that one of Hercule´s jobs was in the south of Iberian Península and the legend sais he opened the strait of Gibraltar thanks to his strong. The two colums represent the mountains of Gibraltar, which were placed in one side, and the Marroquian Atlas in front of the strait.
The coat of Andalucía has Hercules and his two columns.

Buenas tardes:

Hola compi! Bienvenido.
Saludos!

In tournament play, I think that an incomplete game should be scored as a loss for both sides. If a game is incomplete then no one won. This would encourage aggressive, decisive play, and discourages terrain and corner sitting to wait out the clock. It is very frustrating in a tournament for you to be eliminated from contending for a tournament win because your opponent goes turtle figuring that a "draw" is better than a loss.

I have played many many many TT tournament games and yes players could be very defensive and or slow. As there is limited time involved, I wouldn't say draws were common but compared to FOG I and FOG II digital, very very common. Also in many TT tournaments, you'd probably end up scoring points even if nothing happened. At least in FOG II digital tournaments, there is an adjudication process and we will include one in WTC. Also being incredibly defensive means that both players may well score <10 points, which could be disastrous. I believe/hope that WTC II (2022)scoring system and rules will be very similar to Slitherine tournament rules, as used in Byzantium Endures etc
