Having just been given the heads up about your sociable Evergreen League I am very interested in joining .....how do I get involved ?

It would be in the Classical era initially....

Full instructions are in the first post of this thread, but really you just join and a starting army will be assigned based on various factors. You can issue challenges above and below your ranking and then you inherit the army you just fought.

Yes, just like deeter said: pick an army from among the ones not already taken in the second post of this thread to start off with. Just let me know which army and I'll add it and you to the spreadsheet in the link of the opening post.

And then you're good to go starting challenging or be challenged, one game at a time. After a concluded game, you and your opponent switch armies so you'll get that one to fight with in your next game, and so. Wins give +1 points. Draws and losses 0 points.

It's a sociable league, intended to not be very competitive.

Sadly I must decline for now. Too many commitments at the moment. But soon. Meanwhile, there are plenty of others here. One good thing about EGL is you can become active or inactive at any time.

I've updated the result (see the spreadsheet in the link of the opening post). So now you gained 1 point for the victory and switched armies with imatson2527, so that you for your next battle have the Carthaginians. And then after that battle, switch to the army of your opponent.

Great: I've updated the spreadsheet with this.

The Bosporans led by dragmio have lost to the Carthaginians led by devoncop with 41-14. Well, at least the final score looks nice. Although the lack of skirmishers at first seemed to be a handicap for the Carthaginians, they soon overcame that obstacle and smashed the Bosporans head on. There was also some forest action that, although remaining a bit obscure, my have very well given a boost to the Carthaginians for the final victory.
Thanks to devoncop for a very enjoyable game and chat.
