One of you is 100% right. The other is 33% right.
I did write all of the puzzle briefings though. It was... interesting having to come up with reason after reason for why they only allow 1 single turn.
I'm right.
The writing is on the wall so to speak.

Ah, was that only on those 3 puzzles?

Speaking of the tactical puzzles, has anyone tried to do Enemy of my Enemy using the air force? You can obviously push the Soviet tank back onto the last American airfield (that's how I beat it), but I kept wondering if it were possible to use your fighters to cut a path through the American air force to allow your Fallschirmjäger to capture it instead. IIRC they have enough movement to do so, but I gave up on trying as you're limited to three redos before you have to reset it and as I'd already found a solution I wasn't that interested in spending more time on it.
I did actually solve the Enemy of my Enemy with using the airforce to capture the 3rd airfield, at least before Patch 3.
The thing that gave it away for me is the fact that you had 1 unit of Fallschirmjagers.
I remember relying on mass attack of planes a lot, then chewing away at a section of them in order to allow the Fallschirmjagers to fly, land and walk to capture the airfield.
I suspected that there was another way of capturing the 3rd airfield, but I was set on using the jagers

Hah, so it
is possible. Yes, the intended way is to push the Soviet tank back onto the airfield by blocking the other crossings (because there's a road it has enough movement points to reach it), but I couldn't stop thinking about that Fallschirmjäger either

I'm 5 years late to the party but I'm currently doing the Tactical Puzzles and I can't figure out the Impossible Siege. I tried following the Slitherine demonstration video (
https://youtu.be/iC3uP5jhMEc?si=Hvy5rr-vYHjQEb9X&t=209) and at 3:29 the enemy infantry aren't retreating for me. I tried several times to account for combat variability but I can't those dudes strength down low enough to cause a retreat. Is it possible that since the upload of that video that some patches have 'broken' the tactical puzzle scenarios?

The puzzle works for me. But the exact damage dealt is not quite the same as in the video. My recon deals only one damage to the enemy artillery, my engineers do 6 on the 1st Inf, and after that, my infantry also does 6 (1st Inf is now weaker, so it does less damage before my attack), So the threshold of 2/3 damage on the enemy infantry is just reached.
It is quite a nice little puzzle, lots of the PC2 mechanisms come into play. Splitting the recon plane (half over enemy Art and half over enemy Inf) also works (just).

Also the video looks very old (is this really PC2?

) I cant think of any changing, that could change the rules here.
What random factor in the settings are you using? Maybe its high and you had bad luck several times.
Talking about the puzzle, its kinda sad, that the devs created those nice puzzles, but the AI is too stupid to use anything of it.

Arrrg I just figured out the problem: I had the PanzerCorp1-Grandcampaign installed. Once I removed it I was able to get the same results!
