I have sorted out the results I needed to do now. They were from the comp in Perth (Scotland) and had 18 players.
Hm, did they use the software for the tournament? (I'm just curious, wondering whether any one outside germany is using it.)
Thanks, your work is appreciated.
There have been at least two comps in the UK where your software has been used and there will be another one next weekend.

Next version (0.6.5.0) is ready for download on:
http://komicon.jimdo.com/fog-turnierverwaltung/
Changes:
- Generating new rounds works now faster (could be a problem in huge tournaments with the older version)
- You have the choise whethe game results are calculated rounded to whole numbers or with a digital place
- In the print of pairings names and army names are being shortend where necessary to avoid ugly overlaps
A dummy for tournaments with an odd number of players is still on my todo list. The recent changes are mainly bugfixes which had to be done first.

I used this in Roma for the the EIC meeting, and recommend it. As he says, Thomas still has things on his to-do list,
but there's more than enough there for running a tournament. The output is good too, it'll export a file that Excel
or OpenOffice can load showing all the results, who-played-who, etc.

Peter

A new version is ready for download.
New features:
- added an option to give players a bonus or malus
- the results of a bye can now be changed (for each bye different, if you wich)
- rounds created manually can now be filled with the other systems (random or swiss) *
- added a window that contains all the army lists. From there you can drag & drop the army to the player.
- added the option to apply the pools only if there is an alternativ player within a specific range of points **
* This option has show to be very usefull if a player drops out of the tournament. You can create a round manually, give this player a bye, than create the rest of the round by swiss system.
** See the readme.pdf for an example
The software can still be downloaded at:
http://www.komicon.de/fog-turnierverwaltung/
One last thing:
If you use the software for a tournament, i would appreciate a short notice by email - i'm just curious

Some interesting stuff there. I will download it and have a look.
I used the software to good effect at the UK Games Expo but was unable to make it work for Game 09 where I had two seperate tournaments on consecutive days but wanted to exclude players from playing people they played the previous day but do the draw based on second day scores only.
Thinking about this I might be able to make the system do that with a bit of tweaking. If I adjust the scores of all the first day games to zero but leave the games there then add in the second day only players and set all the first day only players to zero scoring byes it might just work.

Hi Hammy,
this is indeed a very special problem.
What if there the posibility of adding a single player into different pools?
In this case you could just create a pool for each game of the previous day, with two players each. It's some work, though.
The other way should work too, although the random function by now does not check whether the players have already played each other. (I build it for creating the first round, so I thought there would be no need checking for this.) But creating a new round by swiss system is kind of random if all player have the same points
Well, next holidays, next version...

Trust me to be difficult
At present I am trying to come up with some software to do the draw for a Flames of War tournament which wouldn't be too hard apart from the scoring ranges from 1 point each through 25-0 with all sorts of other options along the way. Then add in wanting to try to keep the draw axis vs allies, players to avoid if possible club mates, definitely avoid family members and people you have already played and finally decide which tables people play on as FoW uses preset terrain and I want to avoid players playing on the same table twice if at all possible.
Minor update

Today I published a minor update: I included the army lists of the Lost Scrolls.
Since this change only effected the armylist.fml file in the folder, but not the actual software, I did not increase the version number.
Download still at:

Bug notice

Peter just informed me about a bug in the new version.
As I have written, the software offers you the option to fill a manualy created round by any of the other systems.
The function is there, but unfortunatly I forgot to translate the new menu entries.
I will publish a fixed version as soon as possible. Until then, here is a quick translation:
Its the menue point "Runde füllen" which will do it.
It gives you the following options:
Zufällig -> random
Zufällig mit Pool -> random with pool
Schweizer System -> swiss system
Schweizer System mit Pool -> swiss system with pool
Please note that the menu entry is disabled by default. It will be enabled once you created a round manually. (Actually it is enabled as long as the small lock allowing you to edit a round is open.)
Sorry for the bug.
Bug is fixed

I am intending using this for the Celtic Cup tournament in a couple of weeks. I could swear that in the past I found a way to get data from Excel into the draw software either by cut and paste or some other means.
Am I delusional or can it be done?

Set up a tournament, then import from csv saved from excel. From memory the csv needs to be "first name, last name, army name, no of BGs".

Aha, if you close the file in Excel before you try to import it the job is a good one.
Sorted now
