looking forward to seeing you there - you may of course find your solo opponent was rather good and do rather better than you think

There is a possibility of a few more places in the Games Expo FoG tournament. I have been asked to put together a 'reserve' list to judge interest levels. If you would like to play at the Expo but have not booked (and you can't now as the online system is fully booked) can you send me an e-mail on hammy@the-riverbank.net and I will manage the reserve list and pass it to the organisers.

Has anyone submitted a list for this yet? I'm not after a R&R list, I just want to know how people are gauging this competition? Last year it was definately in the 'fun' category. This year with more entries am I to expect a more serious approch to army selection?

To be honest it probably won't influence me on what I bring - but I'd like to mentally prepare for the kicking I get when I bring early stick hurler

Not even thought about it. Is there a date they're needed by?

Yes a couple of lists have been submmitted, one by a player for whom this will be their first ever wargames tournament I think.

Lists need to be with me by Saturday 30th May

As to how serious or not I think there will be a mixture so bring whatever takes your fancy.

I'm in it for the fun. Just painting a few things, so will submit list when I am sure I am going to finish this stuff.

Incidentaly 2 of mycommand bases are on 30mmX40mm bases, I assume I this will be ok as I believe it only works against me in a game?

Yes, that is fine. There is no requirement for commanders to be on 40 by 40 bases, it is just that they are slightly more effective if they are. Most of my command bases are on 40 by 30, the only ones that aren't at the moment are chariots and elephants.

The MM tournament has been dropped but I am not sure what is happening to the space. By the look of it we could get 30 FoG players (space allowing) which is pretty good.

If that would happen getting 30 players which I think you'd easily get with the reserves. That would be great for a one day event, hope they give you the extra places :)

That it would but I am beholden to the organisers for table space.

I am doing what I can and hope that more will be forthcoming but we could do with knowing sooner rather than later.

OK, 8 more places have been found and all are filled by people who contacted me to be put on the reserve list. That is it now, there will not be any more but we have now used nearly double the amount of spaces we were initially allocated.

The full list of entered players is:
Bob Amey, Peter Card, Steve Clarke, David Fairhurst, Lynda Fairhurst, Nik Gaukroger, Alan Gilbert, Simon Hall, Will Hardiman, Martin Hayes, Nick Hewitt,
Neil Howard, Oliver Hutt, Phil Lewis, Gareth Lewis, Gordon Malcolm, Robert Medcraft, Sylvie Mills, Dino Monticoli, David Parish, Nigel Poole, Dave Redhead,
Terry Shaw, Mike Shepherd, Ian Speed, Ian Stewart, Robert Taylor

and someone who entered in the initial 20 but has not sent a list or who I have noticed posting to say they have booked.

I have about half the lists so far. As soon as I get them all I will publish the list.

I am making best guesses for club names to try to keep club mates apart. When I publish the R&R I will include club names, should you want to change your club name at that point let me know.

If my real name to forum name translation is working that would be one Simon Elliot then (I think).
