Still not received an invitation to the Beta despite applying quite a while ago.

I registered - but for now nothing ! Looks like they have enough testers for the BETA process.
Would be nice to test it also !

That's right.

If you don't get invited right away, don't despair. We're going to send out new batches of beta invites in the future. Also, there is no need to apply a second time. In fact we go in chronological order when selecting beta testers, so the older you signed up the sooner you will be invited.

Please have some patience really a lot of people signed up for this beta, and we can't handle all of them at once.

The issue is that no one who has not been invited knows if anyone has been.
Perhaps a 'controlled' leak of some beta reports would reassure people that a Beta test is going on, and it is not just an announcement.

A whole load of people are already part of the beta though only a fraction seem to be contributing. No point speculating on the reasons for that but the plan is to keep it controlled. We're looking for first impressions onwards .. so we invite small groups of people and track their feedback, or lack there of. Each new group is then fresh and can give us an unadulterated first impression. There's little point in having hundreds of people clogging the forum up with the same known issues. So we keep it tight.

I agree, which is why I suggested a "controlled leak ".
I was thinking of a 'Dev Diary' of Beta results for the people not in [yet] to reassure that things are happening, without saying too much.

The link is not working any longer. Has beta closed?

Beta hasn't closed, we released Beta 3 last week, Beta 4 will be sent off at the end of this coming week and probably be released sometime later the following week. Still a long way to go.

We may have maxed out on the numbers, but I can't see that happening just yet, or there may of been a glitch, or it was full moon, or you didn't make the appropriate sacrifice.
Being a weekend here things might be slow so try again during the week. Sorry about that.

Apparently, with migration to new web site, the link to beta registration has changed as well. I see that in the latest Dev Diary the following new link has been posted:
