This is sad story of one heroic Russian fighter squadron. This fighter with a low fuel cannot return to Russian airfield because they are very far.
So, pilots decided to move to Allies British airport in Iraq and later I found it near Cyprus airfield.
I hoped that it will continue struggles together with Allies Air Forces but It suddenly disappeared probably after final defeating of USSR.

Strategic results June 1943, Turn 50
1. USSR has been defeated. We can concentrate our efforts on West Front and Near East. OKW started to move panzer troops and air force to the West.
2. Grunland still in our hand and USA lost 4 units and 2 destroyers and 1 light cruiser trying to recapture it. Grunland continues to carry its air base function and attracts troops to itself.
3. Operation Torch aborted. We can reinforce Kriegsmarine in Atlantic by Regia Marina capital ships and our fleet fro Baltic sea. Probably this combined fleet will be near or equal to Home Fleet if D-Day will occurred. But OKW still keep enough force in Tunis just in case.
4. Economic is stable. Fuel capacity is high. We start to upgrade some obsolete units during their transportation to France.
5. To finally destroy British economy we started offensives to Iraq oil fields from Iran and Near East. Auxiliary landing operation in Syria was planned.

France
First, we planned only stands in defense in France after capturing Iraq oils .
OKW decided to prepare to D-Day and started to build defense.
OKW moved almost all air force to France. We got a huge supremacy on tac and strat bombers and outnumbered Allies by fighter squadrons but we do not have a quality supremacy in fighter because we still have a many obsolete fighters compared to modern US Air Force.

- Turn 58_preparing to D-Day.jpg (429.46 KiB) Viewed 3895 times
But after some analytics OKW reviewed our naval and air forces capabilities again and decide that Germany can try to make a preemptive strike and lands small expeditionary forces on British Isles before D-Day will be started.
Two sites decided as suitable for landing but landing from Ireland coast probably will be have a bigger losses of Kriegsmarine and Luftwaffe. So, landing will be done across the English Channel.
What is interesting, when I started concentrate troop around ports Brits are started to move units to coast and fill the coastal line with troops probably to prevent landing. British Intelligence works well.
At turn 63 we started bombardment and shelling coastal
At turn 65 we tried to land first wave but AI closed coastal again. We need time to clear landing hexes overcoming resistance of US Air Force.

- Turn 65_AI use same tactics to prevent landing.jpg (442.27 KiB) Viewed 3895 times
