I've just started Marathon with Richard, by whom I mean Edmund.

Marathon with Paul, by whom I mean Enakan, is about halfway along: Greeks approaching the camp, Persians frantically checking Expedia for last-minute flights out of there.

I can't recall the last game in which the dice were so lop-sided in my favour from beginning to end.

On the Boetian left, they attempted a staged withdrawal to the ridge line, but the units left as rearguards collapsed immediately, and some retreating units were hit from behind.

And on the flank with the deep Theban phalanx, Athens won too! Almost every attacking Theban unit lost on impact and was disrupted, and they lost most subsequent melees too. Soon front rank units were routing through the poor units behind them. The Athenian cavalry charged in to finish the job.

Two Athenian units on the left were fragmented, and one on the right routed - they were the only BP losses.

Given that this will be a long tourney, maybe every player should be granted one (or two?) mulligans? The result of everyone's worst game or two might not count towards the final tally, so that a game lost through ridiculous bad luck doesn't completely derail someone's chances.

I have to remember this event to count "overage" points, I think I may have forgotten to last time.

Edmund and I started our game too, it's early yet. Londo's line is collapsing fast in our game, but you KNOW that ain't over yet!!! Make that MY line is collapsing fast under Londo's pressure, I am running for my ships!

I forgot to post this...the Greeks outlasted the Persians at Marathon, a really close one that ended with the Greeks (me) winning a squeaker, 43/44 98% to Richard's Persians 67/64 100%.

As the Thebans on the right wing with the famous Sacred Band became locked into frontal melee against the Macedonian phalanx and the Athenians, on the left wing, advanced, a gap appeared, into which Philip’s son, 18 year old Alexander charged with his cavalry. Can Alexander’s flanking attack annihilate the Thebans?

Darius’s last chance of stopping Alexander came on the field of Gaugamela. Both Macedonian wings were put under immense pressure by swarms of Oriental cavalry while in the centre, Alexander led his household cavalry and the phalanx against the masses protecting Darius. The Macedonian wings need to hold long enough for Alexander to smash the Persian centre and put Darius to flight while ensuring that the Persian cavalry does not get behind them.

You figure out how to download these yet? I can't even open up my Battle folder as it is not supported by my Mac. Referring to Charonea and we have a challenge there.

I’m on Mac. You click on the file to download. Find the file which should be in the Download folder. Move or copy and paste the file into the FieldofGlory Scenarios folder. Click on it to uncompress. There should be a subfolder with the battle name created. And that’s it. The game should now be found in the Custom Scenarios tab inside the game.
