I think you'd save something that complicated for a better opponents, but I guess we'll see in the fullness of time.

Some interesting choices of armies. Not seen Irish or Anglo-Irish on the table for FOG R.

Less Scots than I expected.
Yes, the Celtic fringe is well represented. I suspect the technologically advanced Europeans with their stylish and fashionable sartorial elegance are about to be buried by a lot of unwashed hairies with sharp pointed sticks!

And as they (almost) said in Zulu Dawn "...yes, but sharp pointy sticks don't run out!"

Dave Parish has fielded the Irish before with some success as this report from Tim P illustrates!

Keith and Dene's Anglo-Irish and Irish armies will look more like Irish armies than Dave Parish's.

Fair enough, but no digging up the car park, ok?

I thought Don Avis was going to take part.

I thought Don Avis was going to take part.
I hoped so too so I wouldn't have to play!!

Presumably he couldn't make it as Alasdair had him on the list of players and was going to chase up a list from him.

So SWMBO must have changed her mind!!!
It would have been great to see Don again even with his Henry's army.

Yes, it would have been nice to have seen how an Early Henrician army should be handled.

Oh well, back to making my own mistakes. Again.

Paul,

Thanks for a great well organised one day competition.

Talking to Tom and Ben on the journey home we all enjoyed the games and Tom is already planning his army for next year (He is looking for three wins in a row).

Good to see David Edwards power his way above Ben.

Thanks Bob. As always a team effort in particular regard to Mark who came up with the venue and transportable boards as we did not have access to the club ones.
Mark also came up with the legendary comment to all and sundry:

" Paul, the cups are a bit small to charge £1 for each tea or coffee. How about 50p?"
"It's a pound for the day, Mark"
"Ah...  "

I'm not sure if the Schneider Trophy rules apply in case Tom wins three times in a row otherwise we have no competition!

Just out of interest (sparked by a thread on another forum), but how many games ended with one army (at least) completely broken?

[For the record, we were discussing army sizes and their impact on tournaments with >1 game per player per day.]

As far as I can tell from the score sheets, 8.

So 27% - slightly more than 1 game in 4.
