The Axis are very potent in GS v4.0 so you need to make good strategies as the Allies and only fight where you can hope to get the better results. Retreating might be necessary when being overwhelmed. E. g. Egypt is such a situation. Losing Egypt is acceptable if you can keep Iraq. If you fight in Egypt and lose and then can't hold Iraq then it will be a disaster. Things will chance once USA join the Allies. First priority should be to get control over the Atlantic so the Allies can plan offensive missions in Northern Africa or bolster defenses in Egypt and Iraq.

argh complete disaster as we try a cunning forward defence ploy only for the IT CORP not to retreat - two air attacks and and an ARM grrr, couldn't even get it to retreat with the GAR - its going to be very unpleasant next turn - we have just accelerated the fall rather than slowed it down!



at least being suspicious and cautious helps in the homeland, unfortunately we do some things in the worng order - fighting on three fronts looking very possible - for a year

not great as first we lose a FTR and then we get a terrible FTR roll and could lose the second

in Morocco we catch a break



and manage to kill the damaged ARM - it won't change the outcome though



England is not looking pretty as we do lose the second FTR

missed a couple of screen shots and completely forgot the rebellion was arriving - doh

we make a small counter in Morroco but its not enough to risk trying to finish of ARM



in England we just try desperately to slow them down - its a long way to US entry



we have some big decisions next turn

its all doom and gloom as we abandon Morocco in a rush of blood - could't resist getting the ARM, England is toast and we are not sure whats going on in Persia - some sort of blocking strategy?

so Morroco falls as expected - England loses more territory and we have a small victory as we sink a couple of Italian BB's off Persia

Hmm, surely you must be talking about the loss of Iraq? If the Axis attacks Persia, then the SU joins the war immediately.

BTW did you lose Basra? IIRC you permanently "lose" 15 Soviet war-only PPs when you lose Basra, because the Lend Lease convoys cannot get through.
