Just checked out the FOG R ratings. I am miserably low again whilst an old pal seems to have stayed stratospheric. There must be loooooooooooong odds on the Perthians this year. Please take it easy on us folks.

This is at least the third year that you've tried to elicit sympathy for your low ranking and none of us are buying it. Look at it in perpsective, you have the highest ranking of anyone with only one result. Your compatriot Mr Munro has the highest for only 2 results. If you are running competitions north of the wall then the results can be incorporated into the BHGS rankings if you send them to Stephen Stead who is currently compiling them.

That's right, the Perthians were replaced by the Sassenichs.

There are no competitions north of the wall Kevin - "there can be only one!"

......... and yes, I admit to doing okay in the only tournament I've been in during the last year but even a blind pig can snort up a truffle once in a while! I am sure normal service will be resumed in August.

and yes ...... I admit Mr Munro has twice the tournament gaming experience that I have and that is why the weight of Scots expectation rests squarely on his ample shoulders. No pressure then .........

Another entry has flooded in. We are now at

Simon Le Ray-Meyer
Isabel Stead
Stephen Stead
John Munro
Peter Cross
Matthew Poole
Keith Spedding
Hunter Hope
Charles Masefield
Stewart Riddick
Eric Thomson
Lynette Maxim
Frederik Bohm
Frederik Bodin
Jim Gibson

Looks like an alpha to omega top table tussle in the making for Messrs LRM and Gibson ....... we humbler mortals are destined to look on in awe.

Oh, I think you do protest too much and are fooling no-one.

I'm pretty sure my lack of competition games in the last 6 months has dropped me way down the rankings. Looking at the field and knowing that Mr Avis is still due to throw his ticket in - My guess at top 3 would be John Munro/Hunter Hope/Don Avis ....not sure in what order.

If The Don decides to keep his powder dry, I suspect Jim's top three will be correct, if you put The Convict in there in place of The Don.

Britcon is rapidly approaching. As of today there are only 35 days to go. This also means that the deadline for lists is approaching even faster. This will be Friday 29th July and I would be very grateful to have received all lists by then. So far I have one, thank you Hunter.

Also, I am grateful to Keith Spedding who has agreed to be umpire for the event as I will be busy with organisation. I am sure that you will all be nice to him.

Aw crap. I thought an early listing would be bound to curry favour with the umpire. What a bust! Truth be told, I always thought Kev's rulings were a bit iffy and secretly longed for Keith to take his place. I sounder bloke you could not find.
