'Tatar Dave Allen' is that a new dish once Lynda gets hold of him or is it Dave's army choice...

If I read this correctly, the gap from 1st to 2nd is 53 points, the gap from 2nd to 8th is 11 points. If I am correct that has got to go down as one of the most dominant winning performances on record - even for the Horse Meister...

Thank you everyone for a great weekend, especially the BHGS team for running it all and Alisdair for putting up with all our annoying questions.
Game against Fredric was EPIC, we were completely on the ropes, he had broken through our first line, we were shot, then we blew up both his Keills with our second line! Can't believe we pulled it back to 10-10! Amazing game and he well deserved his second place.
Well won Alasdair and David.

And best of all, we were 1 point above Nigel!!!!

Great weekend and thank you to Alastair and David for running it...

Will: I will hang onto the morally corrupt thought, we actually beat you in our game :) all to you both to bringing a none standard army and proving that it can do well... (please send notes on how to myself and the Tatars... Tatars who? )

And thank you to Paul for being brave and partnering me, plus some well timed raining in...

Well done Alasdair and David, for completely out-playing all-comers whilst also organising the event. Just a thought, but perhaps next year we could give them a more realistic handicap - eg make them re-decorate the hall, cook everyone a three-course lunch (both days), and re-organise the Abingdon one-way system.

And thanks to our charming and generous opponents Frederik, Lynda/Paddy, Bruce, and Dave/Gordon, for four very close games; our game against Frederik, which could have gone either way - and more convincingly than 12-8 - had it continued one more turn, showed just how close the other 7 groups of mere mortals were to each other. That said, one more turn in our game with Lynda & Paddy would have probably have seen us come 9th......

Now, would someone - anyone - who has the ear of the Dice Gods please explain to them that:
(a) just 7 of 35 dice hitting on 4/5/6, over three consecutive turns (10, 10 and 15 - the first two produced just 1 hit each), whilst
(b) the same three turns saw the opponent scoring 18 hits from 18 dice (only two being re-rolls) in melee, and 11 from 12 with his artillery; then
(c) no hits from a single throw of 8 melee dice (6 + 2 re-rolls), when scoring on 3/4/5/6; and
(d) two consecutive double 1s both re-rolling as double 1s, causing two units to double-drop to rout just after "last phase" was called....

IS NOT BLOODY FUNNY!!!!

Totally agree with all the sentiments expressed about a thoroughly enjoyable and well organised event.

As always learnt lots more about the game from all our generous and helpful opponents.

Brendan, you do at least inherit from me the title of "Worst die roller of the Wessex Wargames Society" :D
