To Mark50,
You might want to check out Open General while you are waiting for this game to be released.
It's a free download and has all the PG2 and other releases, including mods included. While it doesn't compare to OoB : Pacific as far as graphical goodness, a lot of the mods have things that Panzer Corps left out, and these guys seem to be including

in their game.

thanks i'll give it a go as well, just to see and be nosey
wished i hadn't looked tbh, download into my download folder on windows 8.1, and installed from there, didn't pay much attention to where i put it, only to find later at my cost that it had installed to my documents folder, ok, looked at game and tbh it's not for me so uninstalled it with the uninstall program that comes with it, only to find it deleted my user of the pc, so now have no doc, no saves either, or little else, what a cr@p uninstaller, worse i've even seen, so be careful anyone who wishes to use this, yes it's free, but as it life things that are sometimes free come with a price
caution use of this program if you don't know or do know may harm your pc, as the uninstaller is rubbish and deletes more than the folder it's installed in, you have been warned

Wow, what a horror story. Not sure how that happened, one reason I will never get Win 8. Wife has it on her laptop, nothing but problems.
They update the program several times a month, I have installed an deleted many times, but I have an old Dell laptop running win XP for those older wargames.
Sorry to hear about your PC, hope you can get it sorted out.

I remember she had an issue recently and fixed it with the "file history" function I think it was called. It restores settings and files from before things went wrong, might get you back to where you were b4. the deletion error.

reinstalled windows as couldn't repair it, only took 20 mins and that includes all updates and programs as well plus data transferred from image, so wasn't a hardship as i dso it often enough, windows 8.1 just lets you do it quicker

I got windows 8 with my new computer a couple months ago. Never had a problem. The new start menu takes some getting used to though. And I've played open general off and on for a couple of years. Excellent game and the price is right. There are a couple thousand scenarios available if you know where to look. There's kind of a learning curve to get everything setup after installing the basic og program. Gameplay is very much like panzer corps. The graphics are from panzer general 2 but it will run as high as your desktop resolution.

Rich,
Yes there is plenty to keep you busy for a long time, but I`m having trouble going back to it after seeing OoBP screen shots, and the new things they are adding to this game.
I found a few modern war scenarios around but not much, if you have any info on those I would appreciate it...

Has somebody commenced a radio silence?

It's been awfully serene here, any feedback on how things are progressing?

The beta forum is where all the activity is at the moment. We're hunting bugs and getting good feedback on scenarios, gameplay and features as well.
To throw you guys a bone, here is one small user interface optimisation we've recently implemented following feedback from the testers. A different selection marker (round, and floating above the ground) to help players distinguish which unit is selected when and air and land unit share a hex.
This was based on feedback that players sometimes accidentally ordered the wrong unit to the wrong hex in this situation.

This is the sort of feedback that's helping us to refine the game experience. There's a lot more like this going on behind the scenes, sorry if it doesn't always show on the public forum.

Myrddraal, no reason to apologize. When things are hectic it is easy to put the emphasize to stuff that actually gets the game done.

We (or at least I am, but it is probably safe to assume that I'm not alone) are just eager to get our own personal hype train going!
As a positive factor, I'm always glad to know that developers pay attention to the common crowd/forum even though their time is limited.
Still nice to hear that the game is progressing. May I be so bold and ask is there been any news on the releasing schedule?

Uhhh... you can certainly ask!
Whilst the beta is progressing well, I can't say more on the release date. When the release date is announced, it will come through a press release / forum announcement.

yes for a guess, and enjoy the goodies on offer below, so seems it will be when it's fully ready and not before
viewtopic.php?f=264&t=50353&start=20
read more info from the developer there ^^
as they are still adding stuff and makes comments about adding more or finishing off stuff regarding scenario's and battles, units etc
