Just curious but are you working on the ipad version as well as the PC version at the same time or are you just working on the PC version and than will port it over to ipad at a later date? If the latter, is there basic timetable of how long long between the PC and ipad releases, ex. a month or two?

PC/Mac only at the moment, but iPad has been taken into consideration from the start of the development. The first steps of porting should start early next year, but how long it will take exactly is still too difficult to predict.

Well that's unfortunate. But as long as it does get on the iPad, I will be happy. It's about time there should be a good game about the Pacific for the iPad.

Does the 13 on the allied ship represent it being overstrengthed, or is it just that every unit is assigned a number?

Overstrength due to higher difficulty level.

Is it possible to overstrength your own units too by spending prestige?
And does prestige carry over from battle to battle in the scenario mode?

There is no overstrength mechanic for the player. Prestige (we call it "resources" or "resource points") does carry over, just like the units and commanders.

Events which have effects in later scenarios (campaign variables) are now marked on the map. This allows a constant overview of the strategic (dis)advantages you have achieved. Markers will disappear when they no longer affect the campaign.

I was really looking forward to such a feature that puts things into perspective. You`re doing a great job with the campaign map.

Really nice! How linear or non-linear are the campaigns going to be? Can we expect to make tough choices?

The dynamic part of the campaign comes from (secondary) objectives you may or may not be able to complete, affecting what happens in later scenarios. For example if - as the USA - you manage to keep at least one battleship alive during the Pearl Harbor scenario, an auxiliary battleship will be present during the battles of Coral Sea and Midway.
The campaigns do not have branching (although the engine supports it) because we decided to focus on a longer campaign rather than shorter, branching ones.

That HIggins Boat specialization option sounds unfamiliar to a PG/PzC player: does that mean that you have to "waste" a specialisation just for the landing craft transport option?
Depending on a PG scenario, you normally had a number of landing crafts available to use for whatever ground unit type. Or is this just for non-marine units if marine units always come with a landing craft transport option?
So if you don't take the Higgins specialization on certain ground units during a landing operation, you have to first conquer city/port flag hexes with marines at first before placing non-marine/non-higgins units from the reserve?

Not quite, Higgins Boats allow the troops to fight on landing. Troops from transports wait a turn.

This game looks fine and the amount of detail put in it is breathtaking. Great job so far!
One question: How close can be zoomed in on the map? (Sorry if that may has been asked before.)
And: Any news/updates/pics/release datish rumours?
