I've been informed, Rays list will be glass shattering, but I'm sure no one will notice
Ray: I wonder who gave me that tip bit of info

Can you believe it - 6 weeks have flown by since this thread was opened. Scary when you consider its 6 weeks now to the basho! Feverishly painting, list scheming, second guessing, bantering, rules searching and terrain shaping - any one of these might give me a chance at top ten this year but sadly it is not to be!

I am sure Simon, will be overwhelmed by your gushing praise of his painting skills.
As for Jim, he had better hurry up or he will be entering after the competition is finished.

Good to see plenty of banter, time for some housekeeping notes.
I will be list checking, please send them to the usual address (which is on the BHGS site). I'll be on holiday from tomorrow until the 14th July so lists won't be checked until then (other than the 2 I've had already). The list deadline is 27th July, after which you have to buy me a pint for each day that you're late.
Nemesis Challenge requests should also be sent to the same address. If you want to save a few electrons, you can include them in the email with your list. (BIG HINT!)

Good, that's agreed then - first round game with Ray Boyles (Early 30YW German?).
Leaving me plenty of time for a practice game in the afternoon, say from 12:00 on.
A rare opportunity to test yourself against an army you're likely to have to face at least once over the weekend, if Alasdair's predictions prove accurate.
Any takers?

Let me see.... He may go for that fantastic mounted ecw army.... Scot conventeurs sub list that served so well in the ecw one day event...

not....
Of course is he actually going for border revivers as it's not on the list and therefore double bluffing

mounted Xbows for all that lovely TYW mounted and 5s anyway for foot so nothing lost there

Cheers John.
Could be just a sneaky plan for Hunter to kick off with 25 easy points but should be a good game nevertheless. Could be seeing Nigel early Saturday then!! Eek.
Well, its got to be more promising than last year's start where I used Sudanese with Tuareg ally and faced Don's Japanese 1st game then Dave's 'orrible massed armoured pike army in the 2nd game.

There he goes again. No wonder he wins all his games with three armies on the blinkin table!

The only thing that'dve been worse for you in terms of dice would've been having no dice

I dont think I lost a base despite exchanging plenty of shooting along the line before you charged then scrapping along the line. IIRC your light horse lost 2 bases in 2 turns to 2 artillery at the start. Awful

Please do remember to bring the same dice.

Erm - poor plan then as your a bit more seasoned than I. Hopefully I'll give you a decent game though as I do play quite regularly against the master of foot, John Munro.
Looking forward to the prom now that I have a date

If you have arranged a "Nemesis" game, the other benefit is that you are free to start a little earlier than our scheduled Friday kickoff time if you wish.
You'll have to agree a finish time (if you want... or just play until a conclusion) and also agree how you will deal with any "umpire" queries if no-one else is officially there to do it, but otherwise it might allow you to enjoy a bit more Manchester nightlife!
I'm not exactly sure when the tables will be set up and ready to go, but my best guess is by soon after midday at the latest.
