OK then... quiz question.

When was the last multi-day UK singles event that Alasdair entered, but didn't win?

Don Avis Warfare 2012 with his Japanese

Roll Call 2010 and 2011 or 2009 and 2010 both times I beat him in the last game once for first and once for second can't remember who benefited to come first. 2012 Britcon some Scotsman won that one :-)
These are all I can remember.

So, at best 6 times in the past 5 years... wow.

I guess the rules must have been in a state of revision that favored foot armies too much on all of those 6 occasions ... !

Ah - but is this the first time someone has won a competition where Alasdair was present without having had to play him?!

...and I also can't believe it's taken us 6 years before any of us managed to come up with that particular tactic either!

Ben, nice to see my Britcon win in 2012 has remained immortal as being won by some Scotsman!! Do not be concerned as all Englishmen look the same to me as well.

Alasdair losing might have been partly mine and Brendans fault. We were spectating at some of his games to see how to play properly and our combined " couldn't roll a decent die to save your life" effect must have infected his dice

Oy,
Don't take anything away from us who played him.
I played bloody good against Alasdair in a tit for tat match that with a fair wind and another hour, I might have beat him...Always with the If's and buts.

cheers
Jim
