In the allies campaign I never used strat bombers because I could steamroll with my Churchill IV's and practically one shot with my 3-star Beaufighters and Mosquitos

Strat bombers are the best units in the game IMO. Playing through the entire DLC for a 3rd time now, this time with 5 (14-15 exp) strat bombers, and it makes a huge difference. I eliminated 4 arty pieces and use the strats now instead.

They are very good but are prone to bad weather. Artillery still can do something in any weather, strats really shine only in good conditions.

Using 5 Strat bombers is nice, i do, but ill keep the artillery too. From a core of 46 units (40 + 6SE) i use 5 strat and 13 artillery, makes for very easy going and very few losses. Almost all my targets are fully supressed before an attack which leads to no losses and even better, against costly enemy units, surrenders for prestige.

Just reading the last few posts, it sounds like the Strats are mostly being used for ground tactical support. Is anyone using them for actual strategic bombing against production/prestige targets?

Seems like the AI has infinite prestige and that wont make a difference. However, i sometimes use them to neutralize flags to avoid being spotted and the enemy units spamming. And in rare cases to screen an endangered fighter lol.

Same here, I have a feeling that the AI is not hurt when it looses prestige. It still can spawn units all around.
