And those were the ones you could have 20ish bases of?

Sorry about my intrusion, but I really do not understand all this fuss about the supposed to be new basing for NKE armies. According to the DBM system, one could base his/her close figfhters as Reg Bl(F), therefore: 3 figures on a 30x20 mm base. EXACTELY LIKE THE MF troops of the new system! Moreover, Reg Bl (F) were supposed to be the core elements (with chariots) of the DBM system. Nobody usign the old DBM basing system should have any problem with his/her NKE army.
I have got a (still never used) NKE DBM based army, in which the close fightera were based (without me knowing)as FoG MF.

Heh, of course things always haven't been that simple,...
Previously in DBM the Egyptian foot where spearman on a 40mmX20mm........and than there is the later period in DBM where the foot can be upgraded to Bd(o) on a 15X40mm along with taking some sheriden and other nifty options. I have a friend who never re-based from the spear days, and my army is done up for the later period DBM, so it's rather disappointing that they will not get any good infantry.
Probably ok for theme tourney's, but not good for opens.

Sorry, obviously I meant 40x20 mm (not 30x20mm...pressed the wrong key!

). Still, list 22 NKE from DBM book 1, p. 21:
Close fighters with spear and side arm - Reg Bd (F) 8-20 bases allowed.
It seems to me fair to privilege the longest phase of NKE (1543 BC-1069 BC), but it is - I suppose - a matter of opinion.
Bye.
