Calling Brenmusik - would you like to start our paired game? I have Early Ostrogoths and I have picked a Western Hunnic army for the mirror match. The two challenges will be on the system shortly, password will be "fireinthewest".

Hi Oskar
Im not that mean mate

It would be a very hard task to finish 18 games in 2 weeks and that would be speed play to the extreme

Mark, what might make for an interesting statistic is this - when you do the league table separate each players results into two parts, one part for their own allocated army and one part for the games where they use the other players army. A bit like in football where the "home" and "away" records of each team are separated out. So when you use your allocated army that is your "home" game and when you use your opponents army it is an "away" game.
So a players record would look like this . . .
................................Home.............Away
....................P ......W....D....L......W....D....L.....Pts
stockwellpete...8.......3.....0....1.......1.....0....3.....16
I think it might be quite interesting to compare how players fare with their own army compared to what they achieve with a less familiar army. I am already finding this a very challenging format because I am making mistakes in my selections for the "away" games. Just an idea anyway.

Hi Pete
That sounds like an interesting idea and players could see the breakdown between their army and their opponents.Im glad you are finding it challanging and i wanted both games played at once to achieve this.So while you may well win with your army but the results could swing the other way with your opponents army.

Yes, this tournament will be good. The other thing that might happen is that as the tournament progresses players will start to get better with their allocated army as they are using it more regularly.

I like this idea a lot. Really reflects what the tournament is about.

Not a bad idea but I sence most players are likly not familiar or perhaps all too familiar with their assigned "home army"
Zeus help the Saxons and Huns! ( the Alans are a pretty sketchy list too ha ha)

Maybe not for the first couple of "home" games, TGM - but after then players should start having an idea of what is their best pick.
Anyone ready for a new "mirror match"?

Mirror game
TGM (Franks) 57/57
draw vs
Vandals (Ulysisgrunt) 46/42
I thought I had it 4 turns prior to the end , up 15 BPS's, him 6 BPS away I had positions of advantage, then my sluggo Franks apparently decided they didn't want to fight anymore and started routing like crazy. The last combat resolved was my CnC , disordered, meeled a disordered vandal BG and routed ! curse him..
Good game U.!
