My thanks to everyone for making the umpiring so easy, especially considering it was a new version.
You all seemed to have a good time, results will be ought as soon as Tim and I have had a rest.
Hope everyone got home safe

1. Dave Ruddock (Later Serbian)
2. Graham Briggs (Later Achamaenid Persian).......
Me and Graham finished equal on points at the top, but I won the tie-breaker.
So you mean you were = first, which is not really first, again.
The elephant's bridesmaid?

The army was:

5x4 Kn, Armoured, Superior, Undrilled, Lancer, Swordsmen
3x4 LH, Unprotected, Average, Undrilled, Lancer, Swordsmen
1x4 LH, Unprotected, Average, Undrilled, Bow, Swordsmen
2x6 LF, Unprotected, Poor, Undrilled, Bow
1x4 LF, Protected, Average, Undrilled, Firearm
1x6 HF, Armoured, Average, Undrilled, Heavy Weapon
1x6 Mb, Unprotected, Poor
I think it safe to say that it was wildly different to any other v1 army I'd ever seen.
How did you like the armored KN? Did the 5MU move make a real difference?

There were a couple of things that made a big difference - one of which is the 5 MU move - that makes a big difference. Also being able to turn automatically when you have a general with the unit is very useful.
If facing shooting you can step upto outside 4", but within 5" and then the enemy has one long range shot and one short range shot, after that it's charge in at double plus usually. Only having to win melee by one to get three minuses is quite nice too

I am not surprised to hear that. I played Komnenan Byz at Cold Wars and found the same thing applied. The only problem with the K Byz is that they only get three BGs of the armored KN.

Did having
both units of spears as 6's rather than your more usual 8+6 make a material difference then, and was that a V2.0 inspired change ?
