flatsix518 Later Macedonians 38/41
kmaher Pyrrhic (in Italy) 47/42
Our two armies met on an open field. As we advanced, I condescendingly made disparaging remarks to kmaher about his poor quality troops. This must only have served to infuriate his mob of average joes and poor moes since when my army hit them it was like running into a stone wall. It didn't help that kmaher had informed me he was a newby and then played like a wily veteran. I did my typically sloppy play and got my army bent with a kink in it. I also stupidly placed some Galatians in the kink which he correctly attacked with an elephant. That was followed by pikes joining in and he really eventually caved the kink which was the mid-point of my battleline. By the end of the game most of my battle line had been swept away and it wasn't looking that good. In fact, the final casualties were: Macedonians lost 3,831 and the Pyrrhics lost 3,709 -- showing how really close it was. There was one turn where the dice turned to my advantage and I got about a 9 point lead in the game and really just barely hung on to win. Puts a different spin in Pyrrhic victory, huh?

Well the macedonians decided to rebel against the wise and benelovant rule of Jupiter as a consequence they have been subjugated and now the roads of northern greece are adorned with mile after mile of crucifixes, beware those of you who wish to rebel against our rule.
rexhurley (LRR) 6/35 cromlechi (later macs) 39/39....
I must admit I was surprised by the scoreline
