Hi Tim,

I've been following this topic for a while and, inspired by all the enthusiasm, have just booked the last place. So full house with FOGR being first sold out!

Alasdair, we await your latest choice with bated breath. Sensible or off the wall army, only time will tell.

Very Sorry Simon, it was how many horse can I get in an army and still stand a chance, of the top of my head I think more than 35 (several more than that I think) bases that move at least 5 inches a go, charge charge charge, my feeling was last year I didn't do well because I didn't have enough horse, so buy more, though to be fair that could be a totally flawed logic and maybe I should start playing with foot

but we'll see if it works, whatever I will have fun

Cheers

My pedestrians look forward to forming a 24" parrabolic shooting arc on the baseline with the great commander in the middle

Simon, I suggest you form a circle in the middle of the table and let Alasdair's cavalry ride round you. Meanwhile you can give your best George Armstrong Custer impersonation. Watch out for the arrow in the back just where the V of the braces meet. A Hollywood staple.
Seriously though I may have to reassess my army composition to face that lot.

I quite liked your Ikki ikki Triangle to be fair, especially as it didn't shoot

I am not sure I approve of circles that shoot

As we can all drop a score it means we can push it a bit, I'll still struggle against massed pike and shot (Anglo-Dutch etc) , and by the way its 39 elements I checked that can move at least 5 inches but a lot of those could be dragoons, now that will get you thinking and yes I do have more than 10 dragoons

Come on Simon

I checked your blog expecting to see a beautifully painted foot army to make cunning plans against (ride around the circle) and nothing there, though to be fair with your painting speed you probably have 2-3 weeks before you need to start

If he does not start for 2-3 weeks it will be the show standard - if it is the just wonderful standard he will start 1st August...

looks like the banter has begun. if alasdair is as decisive on the table top as he is in listing then it could be another murraycane!

When you were drawing comparisons with Murray's Wimbledon win, I thought you were about to predict a Britcon winner from Scotland in general and Perthshire in particular. Oh the omens, the omens - could it be Hunter Hope's year.

Well mine is a very non power list of "what more Scottish p+s".... I'm leaving the sensible choice to Byrons list.

But as Dave Allen has taught us many times Quantity has its own quality so don't knock it

and you are right Byrons list is good and one you definitely don't want to meet so I'd make sure you are listed as the same club

cheers
