Finished my game with Macsen.

Tiavals Later Achmaenid Persia 30/69
Macsen Early Carthage 63/59

I won the initiative, and chose a map that was very much in my favor, I had a good hill with a bunch of plantations in front of it. And since I had ranged superiority, a lot of the battle was already decided.

Excellent news!
My game against pantherboy is comming to a close:
51/64 vs 67/78(I think).
I can hope for a draw, hardly more than that. But anything could happen if the weird results continue. The fight has been littered with those!

I think we are so use to playing armies with loads of superior troops, we forget how random 'average v average' combat is. Bates and I have been talking about this in our game. Fog2 definately needs to make the combat results a lot less random than they are right now!

Friend only to the undertaker.

Our battle is underway, with the Athenians huddling in fear on a vast hill - no doubt Nicias awaits the right moon, bird-flight or liver-lobe...
The Sicilian sun must have addled my opponents brain or perhaps its that goo they call wine here for as yet he has to move on his start line with the exception of the sacrificial lights who are dying in droves, could it be he prefers the rear look of his "boys" rather than manning up and meeting us on the sun drenched plain where I now stand.....
ha scurvy dog mock us he will, charge my LI in the rear and get caught in the flank by a sub general...no problem we will promptly hamstring his horse then slit his throat while he lays helpless on the ground, die dog die!!!!!!!!

Lols absolutely hilarious that was seeing that happen.............

Euro Athens V Resto Sryra's - Battle Report Turn 2

Battle joined. Athenian archers evades only to be smacked on the bottom by a Srya Slinger. "What are you slinging today?" says the happy Athenian archer

The Egyptians were able to hold on to barely avoid drawing let alone surviving defeat in the final moves by the Carthaginians. Thanks to hidde for a thriller.

Egyptians 76/78
Carthage 69/64

The crocodiles seemed to really enjoy the Offensive celery stalks that the Athenian hoplites seemed to carry instead of proper spears. In an average spearman vs average spearman battle where you can't win an impact, average hoplites just don't make it.

Some poor die rolls with a touch of FOG randomness has gone badly for the Sryas. dispite numbers and causing many casulaties the Athenians shrug it off. The Sryas however rout at a sparrows f@rt. See what happens next turn.

Ha the scurvy sicilian pox ridden tyrant has been dealt with. Mock us he would when he found us deployed on a hill, mock us he would as we swept onto the plain as he sat looking at the butts of his little boys... Mock us he would as I crashed and fragged off his line....but ha he fell for my evil genius and victory is our's glory be to Athenian and all who walk in her light!!

Yup basically after a game of supreme madness with average dice I arise the victor 53/70 v Aristides Syracusans 72/67

We rule the world we rule the world, bawaa......well in Rugby we do unlike the Welsh....

Suffice to say, the match is decided in the fifth and last game!

Euro Athens V Resto Sryra's - Battle Report Turn 6

Athen winning 10/69 Syra Loosing 13/61

Syra Left flank attack is bogged down due to solid defense by Athenian Hoplites. Athen MF seem to like the bushes better than the Syra ones so they are winning in the centre. main Athens Hoplite force approaching ..... hope we can be friends?

Athens (Europe) 10/69 Syracusans (ROTW) 22/61

The Athenian MF in the woods are gaining the upper hand while the HF on the right flank up till now are bravely holding their ground.
On the left wing the battle is going to start just now and it will be interesting to see how it will evolve.

That said the encounter is still open to every solution!

Carthage (deeter) 52/54 vs. Syracuse (Morio) 69/69

A real nail-biter down to the end, not helped by the fact that Morbio rallied about a dozen units from rout. A great game though.

Many thanks,

Deeter

Turn 7
Athenians (Europe) 13/69 Syracusans (ROTW) 38/61

Under the pressure of elite troops and MF concerted attacks the Syracusan center is melting away and their left flank will quickly bore the brunt of an onslaught from superior numbers of Athenian hoplites, while on the other wing is still taking place the holding action devised to stop the flower of Sicilian units.
The Athenian commander is urging his men to do the last effort needed to won the day and so the first match of the competition!
