kilroy (Ghaznavids, later) 24/23 v claymore (Arab Conquest) 16/28

Lots of bow fire from the Ghazza's. Lucky that the Superior arabs can soak it up. Such small numbers of troops requires carefull planning - more like a game of chess

Thanks to Kilroy for the game, Claymore

Posted in wrong thread . . .

batesmotel - Bosporans(mid) 9/35
steve-h8 - Arab Conquest(late) 36/55

Steve's protected lancers fell to Bosporan bow fire and armoured lancers. After managing to win the race to a ridge between the armies, the Bosporan lancers also managed to beat the superior Arab spearmen. Thanks for the game.

Chris

Fedem Later Carthaginians 23/30 vs tarankiko Catalans 29/27

Men I hate those Catalans......We were able to deploy on a hill and defend from there. They were coming from all posible angles....charging uphill and all...

We barely made it...

Tough battle!

Tks!

Yes Sanacherib resigned in a couple of games i was playing against him. Not good in a competition to do such a thing though :(

I have no problem with players resigning in this competition if they have been totally out-played. The polite way to do it is to write something like, "will you accept my surrender please?" rather than just hitting the resign button without saying a word - that can appear a bit impolite, to say the least.

Sennacherib politely gave his reason for resigning and I accepted.

morbio (later seleucids) 15/31 vs fogman (arab conquest) 32/28.

3 lakes in my end and rocky terrain on either of morbio's flank made deploying the cavalry impossible. Morbio skillfully corralled my lancers, picking them off one by one. The infantry flank attacks could have won the day but some bad die rolls at critical junctures doomed them. I wish I had made an aar of this game; there were some really interesting moves.

Indeed an amazing game that with one mistake could have been so different. If you'd broken into my defensive circle I was doomed!

sennacherib resigned once with me too. I have no problem with that since that game was over very quickly and I find no pleasure in mopping up a stricken army, but some prior communication would have been nice. but sometimes when you get frustrated...

I agree Frogman if someone is being thrashed i dont mind them resigning but at least tell your opponent what you are doing.I wish he had resigned agaist me in our Knockout match  We understand the game can be very frustrating and its so easy to press the resign button . But in a contest it should be severly frowned upon...

Lysimachos (Jewish) 45/49 klayeckles (Pontics) 36/34

Now I'll do my best to recover the lost time!
Excuse me Macsen, I'm going to accept your challenge as soon as possible!
