I am a little confused onthe seasons..every battle we play is considered 1 season with different army points allowed.

so since we rest 1 season (winter) which I assume is the same for everyone....and we have to pick a different ally evey year, that would mean in my case I would use Spartans 2 times (or 3 if I want) and sec's once if I use Spartans 2 times. Then I have to change my Ally fro the next year but can keep my Spartans? Is that correct?

If not I would want to change to Macedonians as they have more armies I can chose allies from...

i may have read it wrong..I am not the squirrel at the yop of the tree!!

Have to run and sign a contract...will check in a couple of of hours...

Thanks for your patiance

You can use any army from your Region in battles. You may end up fighting a number of battles each season. You can use your mercenary army in one battle per season. You can use your 'Region' armies as often as you like per season. You must change your mercenary army each winter and you can only use a 'Region' army in three consecutive 'active' seasons (not winter) before it must be rested for at least one season.

Examples:
i. You are attacked by three separate players. You decide to fight two with Spartans and one with Hellenistic Achaian. You decide to attack two players, using Thessalians for one and your mercenary army for the other.
ii. You use Classical Spartans in summer and autumn, then in the following spring. That list cannot be used in summer as it has been used in the three preceding 'active' seasons.

First year's lucky mercenaries will be the Galadhrim - or failing that (Ie no working dimension warp) we'll take the EAP 479 BC.

Gupta? Hmm... Didn't my Ashokas thrash your Guptas 52-0? Or was it u who thrashed my Mauryans? :-D

Anyway, as I understand it, Classical Indian is Classical Indian in this comp.

Hi A

I think we drew a game a while back with your Gupta's vs Anglo Irish and then I beat them on a rematch, can't remember all of our games. I think you have beaten me or have you, can't ruddy remember.

How does this work then, can you use any Barbarian army?

Will have to have another look at the rules.

You can use any Barbarian army in any of your battles, subject to the rule about resting them (you can use for 3 consecutive active seasons then they must 'rest' for one season). Gupta Indian is fine.

When a game finishes, the results get posted on this thread. As you can see from the rules post, I need to know army, BGs lost, whether camps were looted and whether any commanders were killed.

Example:
Achilles (Greeks) 28/34 beat Hector (Trojans) 40/35. Trojans lost IC. Greek camp looted

I then plug this in to a spreadsheet which keeps track of scores. Once all battles in a season are complete, I will progress the season and add a post to the page one 'News' thread. This will have the scores, updated map, any special rules for the coming season, etc. Have a read through the 'To Tame a Land Redux' thread to get an idea of how it works, as this is using a simpler version of that system.

OK Keyth

Do I have to show my army and will I know what they are using or is it a stab in the dark sort of thing.

In other words there is no customizing for a specific army but a region?
