Live messenger does not make any noise, and without any chat you cannot coordinate loading the game!

Somebody needs to make an inter-IM clearinghouse utility, so messages from ICQ or Xfire, for example, can reach somebody on that microscum thing, whatever it is, MSN or whatnot?
I have never used them so YMMV but there is Pidgin and Digsby which both do that kind of thing. Googling them will get you there.
Cheers

I'm looking for moderate-advanced players willing to play Borger, Jim, and Ronnie's (BJR) new mod posted here at slitherine, with all the house rules. I'm playing 2 games on it now, and from what I've seen, it really is a great mod. The rules seem long and complicated, but once you get going, they become instinctual. And the best part is they all make sense! I especially like the sub rules. Anyway, here are the settings I prefer:
Oil: On
FOW: On
Random Research: On
1939
Either side
If you're interested, contact me at
joerock22@comcast.net. Thanks

Hi ya Joe -
I'm still waiting for someone on Slitherine 1.07 to take me up on an offer to play. I have been playing with a 1.06 Slitherine guy - I just started my invasion of Russia.

New Mod's only for multi-player games?

So, will the new Mod's only work in multiplayer games or should they apply when playing single player against the computer? I just downloaded them and started a new game and none of the Mod's appeared. I want to be sure I downloaded them correctly. Please respond, thank you.
Also, I'm new to the game and would like to play a human. I can only take one turn a day so, it might be a long game. Also, due to my "new-ness", I should probably be the allies too. Any takers?
What's 1.07?

Hi Pepper -
Look at the
viewtopic.php?t=7937 article, it describes the beta version of the latest Software Patch to Slitherine. I think the retail slitherine software is at version 1.06, so 1.07 is the newer game. I hope I have been clearer than MUD with this explination. If you can upgrade to the 1.07 version, then I will play you.

any chance this will be resolved in the future?
The answer to this question is the reason why I signed up to this forum. Is there any hope of Mac-PC compatibility someday?
That, and the (at best distant and likely nonexistent) possibility that this game will eventually be patched so more than 2 players can play.

I have version 1.07 and have not played against a human yet. Anyone who wants to pbem hit me up. Fellow noobs preferred, but if youre experienced then I wouldnt mind being taught a thing or two (the hard way). I can do allies or axis...doesnt matter.

I have Matrix version (unpatched). What is the diff between Slitherine 1.12 or Matrix 1.12 - are they incompatible? I'd be interested in a game if I can figure out the patch system and use the RFS mod which seems quite good.
