I'm surprised that you didn't prioritise Artillery. Your subs are rather low-tech, but with just 1 Naval lab, it shouldn't be a big surprise... Armour and General are ok, but you lag behind in Infantry and Air techs are not that impressive, either.

Yeah me too...ha ha ha. good suggestion, will put focus on artillery for infantry next turn. Could be useful for upcoming offensive in 42. I had 2 techs on sub during the whole 1940 with poor results. For 1941 i took it away and put it on more important places.

I see that you don't use the Haettenschweiler font. Therefore the text written is made by a substitute font. Have you considered installing the Haettenschweiler font?

Turn 40 the russian winter has come

I didn´´t take any before shots, since there is little action now.
Tobruk still holds out, maybe he will wait for the arrival of tacs

Image

As you can see i am preparing for winter, still sending corps to fill up the frontline. As you can see leningrad fell as well....he could only reinforce by 1 step since supply
was low. So 4 steps left was no match. Capturing leningrad was a bonus that i didn´t expect...nice.
Probably Zechi will be ready to attack in 2 turns. My guess is that he will try and cause some damage around Moscow to ensure it´s survival during 42. He will probably strike in the south as well on a small area near Rostov where it is hard to defend.

I think he needs to hit you in the North, above Moscow.

The South is tactically inviting but offers no Strategic benefit, the North has significant Strategic value, if you hold north of Moscow over the winter he cannot save it in 42.

I'd suggest closing the raillink to Novograd (and maybe saving the surrounded INF) - otherwise you can expect some units sent there that you may have problems with.

I agree your northern bulge is Russian's most threat. In the south I would just withdraw as needed.

With Haettenschweiler you won't see the text in dialog boxes being clipped or long texts truncated with ....

Haettenschweiler is automatically installed if you have any Microsoft productions like MS Office.
You can download Haettenschweiler here:
http://www.newfonts.net/index.php?pa=show_font&id=105

If you need a font version with Cyrillic letter you can download it here:

Turn 41 and severe winter hit after my turn

This after my turn, i establish supply again to the corp up north but think it´s to late. As some of you guys said, looks like Zechi will attack around Moscow. I also retreated one exposed corp that could be attack from 3 sides. I have more infantry coming and they will be railed here next turn. I also have some troops from the southern army group if it will be needed. Also got some upgrade that are nice....

Doesn´t seem to happen that much here in the south. We wíll see about that....severe winter also hit after my turn. Now the fun starts

Done...probably need to send some more troops to keep it closed

I found a different link for Haettenschweiler which autoinstalls the font if you click on Install (instead of having to move the file to C:\Windows\Fonts

When I see some AAR's I notice that players are using the substitute font called Impact. This font is a bit wider than then intended font Haettenschweiler. Haettenschweiler was selected as the main font for CeaW (vanilla game) and we haven't altered that.

Unfortuately Haettenschweiler is no longer automatically installed in Windows and MAC. Instead the font is installed if you have a Microsoft product like MS Office.

If you don't have MS Office then you can get nicer looking text if you install Haettenschweiler. E. g. you won't see the text in dialog boxes being clipped or long texts truncated with ....

You can download Haettenschweiler here:
http://www.fontpalace.com/font-download ... schweiler/

1. Open link
2. Click on Download Haettenschweiler Font (typed in green background)
3. Select Open
4. Select Install
5. Type Yes to overwrite if you already have the font installed

The above version supports all languages (including Russian)

Your latest screenshots still show clipped text (e. g. dialog box with 3 lines). That is the Impact substitute font and not the Haettenschweiler font.

A question:

If you exxed the building limit so units start using more oil, do they imidiately do that even when in building que or is it when completed and placed upon the map? Also is it all units that use the extra oil or is it only the one bought over the limit?

This is immediate and applies to all units on the map.

First turn of severe winter

Not a pretty one....my pland to withdraw my forward tank units was not put into affect quickly enough so i "pay the the ultimate price for my lack of vision". As you can see it got destroyed together with some other small units. Heavy reinfrocements railed up in the north...i guess Zechi is serious about retaking Kalinin.

Image

Since i can not hold the line in the north against these tanks units and also the push from Tula i decided to withdraw my units in good order. There seems to be no action at all in the south

Second turn of severe winter

A couple of more corps destroyed and a few sorounded, losses are mounting up and i can´t really do anything about it. That is the price for taking a chance at fair weather in october and november.

Image

We counter attack on the forward russian corp in the center to restablish the line again, also to let my tanks retreat so they can be railed away to safety during winter. On other places we are holding the line and no action. I have begun a massive production que of subs, tanks and mechs for summer campaign of 42. After this i must regain the initiative and take Moscow.

Image

Tobruk is lost, german corp was down to 1step and no supply so i couldn´t even reinforce. I transport it out of there to greece, hopefully i might be able to escape.

Image

In the atlantic convoy hunting has been good, not much getting through. Though menacing subs have begin to appear and attack my capital ships they have been roaming freely a lot. The idea here is not so much to get sea supremacy but to keep the allied war effort busy in taking my capital ships down. Less action in France over germany and in the Med
