I thought your medieval army of choice was Santa Hermandad Nueva Skythians?

Has the compulsory terrain not needed to go down been ruled on as even at 650 points it usually has to fit on the table even if it doesn't meet the requirements.
The rules on the BHGS website make no mention of compulsary pieces having to be placed.
There is also no reduction in the number of pieces.

It has to fit on at 650 where you play 650 because Hammy added his own rules at his 650 tournaments. They are not BHGS rules, they are Hammy 650 rules.

On the 5x3 feet table Hammy has for Games Expo and the Stockport mix'n match event, the mandatory terrain piece is deemed to fit, even if it violates the 8-inch-gap-to-the-board-edge rule. In the Britcon 15mm "ancient" period with a 60x40 inch table, you will have 20 inches depth in each half of the board, so a "large" terrain piece not on a board edge might just fit with the requisite 8 inches gap to spare. Maybe. This clearly needs some consideration. I am on the fence as to whether it's necessary to institute a similar rule for Britcon, or even if it's desirable, but it needs sorting out one way or the other sooner rather than later. (looks at the umpire (Hammy))

Neither required nor desirable. You pays your money and takes your choice - if you pardon the expression - if it is too big to fit then it don't get in, size zero terrain only...

You need the umpire to confirm the rules as written before the competition has even started Peter? That must be a record.

Will the BritCon players be seeded?
What is the seeding system?

Players will definately be seeded as they always are.
The Britcon seeding system is based on guesswork.

Do the top quarter of the seeded players avoid each other for the first four rounds?

The seeded players only avoid each other in the first round.

It looks to be the tournament of the year.
Drummond, Dader and Iverson will spice things up nicely.

The problem may not be in the seeding system, but rather in the alcohol-based irrigation system...

OK, to answer a couple of things.
On the smaller tables compulsary terrain may end up not fitting or at least it may not fit if you choose a dirty great circular thing. As long as it is no more than 12" in one direction it will definitely fit. Anyone hoping to get rid of the compulsary by taking a massive piece as has been pointed out has a two thirds chance that it will end up on the table.
Seeding is done using the BHGS rankings amended by incorporation of overseas players as the organisers feel is reasonable. Sean, Matt and Olivier will all be seeded that is a certainty. The only 'benefit' of seeding is that the seeds do not normally play other seeds in game one.
Hope that helps
Hammy
